Re: D1 CL 03B
A few D1 CL teams will be representing NTX in the Dallas Cup... A link to the brackets is below, and good luck to all those participating!

The listed "GK" on their roster. If not the best, one of the top 3 in his position in the entire CL.
Resurrecting old posts....Cruz Azul's listed "GK" has been at it for a while. Heard FC Dallas's newly appointed DA coach is after him.

hanallalone wrote:Agreed; Cruz Azul's goalkeeper (on paper) is the fastest kid in CL... Played him in Copa ESPN, and he scored 3 on our strongest back by using his quickness, strength, and top in speed... He literally manhandled our backs in a game where we dominated possession but gave up a goal almost every time he was allowed a touch behind our backs... The kid actually playing in the net is big, strong, and has a TON of potential... Nice to see some of these keepers starting to grow into their bodies and show the athleticism that we all knew would accompany the big frames... Some big shoes to fill this year with the Academy ball (plus the accompanying player movement), and FCDP has secured a TOP netminder to solidify their already potent bunch... Although the CA keeper is looking good, I would have to agree with PLF that there are a bunch of strong keepers to compete with in this bracket...
Post from the past! And , yes, he is still doing it!

Didn't hear about the newly appointed DA coach, but congratulations on being scouted by the FC Dallas academy coaching staff. The Academy has an excellent GK training program and I hear they get great results.

Re: D1 CL 03B
Just to clarify in regards to the old posts, #17 is a forward who has always been listed as a GK on their gotsoccer account... He is no goalkeeper, he is a goalkeepers nightmare! That's what all the talk was about, how the GK on paper was so hard to defend...
While we are asking, who is the new DA coach?

Too funny! I didn't realize that CA's talented forward was listed as a GK on their roster. CA has an excellent GK and he has done a great job this season so I figured they were talking about him (the actual GK).

Re: D1 CL 03B
Well, the season is over... Cruz Azul climbed the ladder nicely, and the battle for #1 continued all the way until the final week... Not sure of the final score today, but Ody was up 9-0 at half time and did not score many in the 2nd half... I think it was 10-0, but I could be wrong... Any thoughts / predictions for next year (Age Pure)??? Should be an interesting off season... Odyssey is still busy with the NPL playoff games (technically City FC, but 100% Odyssey roster), the State Cup, SRPL Region III games (in South Carolina), and most likely a few more tourneys to sharpen the group... Still a whole bunch to accomplish for the small club who won't quit...

Re: D1 CL 03B
Anyone see the FCD vs Cruz Azul game? Both teams playing very well at the end of a long season... Wish I could have seen that one; I think those 2 teams are on the right track... Cruz Azul was a goal scoring machine towards the end, and FCD could hold possession vs the best... Looks like LP Alonzo and Andromeda will have their hands full if all these teams survive the AP shift... I know that LP team has some big, fast, strong boys who will be fun to watch vs the top defenses... Haven't seen Andromeda in a while, but a nice finish earns them a chance to test themselves further...
