Where are they now??
As classic league is beginning to come to an end, I post this hoping it brings back memories to the good ol' days. Where have all these teams gone? Some still remain atop and have kept their top level of play in D1. Some have folded and players of those teams have scattered around. Coaches have came and left. The top players have gone DA or even faded away as speed and size leveled off as players matured. Maybe we can even start a list of college commitments of local kids of the graduating class of 2017. These are past standings of classic league at U-11:

I like the idea of a list of commitments. My bb graduated last year but played for two of these teams. August 98 birthday so he was a baby, graduating at 17. Even though he's not class of 2017, he feels more a part of this soccer class than the '98 boys who he graduated with, playing will all of these boys since U11 so I'll start the list. Garrett Morgan is about to wrap up his freshman campaign for Dallas Baptist University.
He played for two years for Tyler Azzurri before moving on to Solar Pre-Academy for 1 year and Solar Red for 5 years. Azzurri struggled for 3 or 4 years in CL falling to D2 then D3. Now they are FCD East Texas and I'm not sure where that team plays or if they even exist anymore. Solar Red of course is still doing it's thing. With two games left, it will likely come down to goal differential to decide if they get another CL championship. Go Solar!!

A list of USSF DA, Classic League D1, D2, D3, and PPL commitments would be nice. Glad to see your BB is doing well!

Re: Where are they now??
Agreed, but not sure where you would get such a list. I'm not even sure Solar has a list of their class of 2017 commitments yet. There is a list to their 2016 class commitments but it only includes DA players. I guess the rest of their players don't matter (and yes they were told about all four players from Solar Red '99 that committed last year--three of which are playing in college this year and the other who committed last year as a Junior). I know of 1 commitment on Solar Red this year and several others that have gone on multiple college visits this year but don't feel comfortable saying names without their or their parents' permission. I can't speak to any other teams as I don't keep up with them.

Apparently that link no longer works. It looks like Solar and Andromeda finally merged their websites and there is no longer a link to college commitments that I see.

Here's a list of commitments in Texas. Not all players or on here yet that have already committed.

Re: Where are they now??
Clearly not complete. It looks like this is only DI and mostly DA players. Nicko West does not play for Solar Chelsea although he did when he committed to Navy. He is now with the Texans. There are a lot of players out there that have already committed to D2, D3, NAIA, and JUCO that are not reflected on this list and I'm sure even this list is sorely incomplete.

AGREED! top drawer is useless if you want any real time info on players and teams. they use got soccer and report opinions of coaches and scouts that obviously don't have enough information to acurately handicap this stuff. they do provide some real time results and pass along some interesting information.

Many of the d3 and NAIA won't commit until the academic scholarships are offered in December-January.

I'm hearing college soccer is basically HS + and not the level of soccer after select matter of fact most have confessed that their CL D1 teams were much better

Re: Where are they now??
Maybe but some extra "academic" money tends to come to athletes that other students don't always seem to get...so a little extra high school can be worthwhile.
