Re: TOP 10 2009 TEAMS
The question is what teams these parents will ultimately decide to play with this tournament in November. I see a lot of conflicts so we will get a better idea which team is actually showing progress without guest players. That's if every team decides to play.

Bingo!!!!
I love all the new posters - hopefully all with good intentions and no trolls.
My list - AGAIN this is based on wins not style and development.
1. DTS
2. Eligio (I heard they were missing 3 starters)
3. Allegiance
4. tied Dudley and Santos (head to head 1-1)
6. Brazil
7. Tigres FW
8. FCD Depew - FCD created a invitational team for Saturday at the PIT with mix of Depew Sunday team and 09's off the 08 premier teams.
9.Garland Tigres
10. Elite United

What does that mean exactly? Are you pointing to a style of play? Success? or recruiting? From what I know about PSG08 - wouldn't all 09 teams want to reach that level of success?
I do agree w/ the poster who commented on guest play / dual roster. Seems at least 2,3,4 teams have a decent amount of sharing of core players and trade between different tournaments and leagues. Will be hard to get a true gauge of most of these teams until more settled and established rosters.

I actually have not seen them play. I meant more from a recruiting collection of talent aspect.

Re: TOP 10 2009 TEAMS
Based on availability, and from what I seen on DTS they use the same players all the time and do have 1- player from Santos who play every once in a while but its not enough to make that huge of a diff he just adds a lil more firepower that this machine of dts have already. Its hard to grade teams at this age cause some coaches only want to go to tournament that think they will win and know what teams wont be there to play against. I know both Fred and Pedro and I think Allegiance and DTS would be willing to play any1, anytime, this is what makes goods teams great. Would be nice to see all teams come together at one of the upcoming tournaments here in NOV. speaking of good teams FC DALLAS ACADAMY (formally psg 08) that's a kick azz team and there play is in sink w/each other awesome team.

Anyone watch the Solar Griffiths Vs. NT Elgio on Sunday? I see they tied 1-1.

Re: TOP 10 2009 TEAMS
Yes I did actually. I made a deal with my DD for extra time to watch it. It was a disgrace. Solar put 3 defenders in the box at all times and played kickball THE entire time. With the wind the ball bounced weird and they sent big kids up to get it. Eligio kids for most part took care of it but one errant bounce equaled a goal. Eligio passed and dribbled and had so many shots just not go in. Possession wise it was 90 to 10 percent for Eligio at least. Â I do not think Solar had more than 2 passes the whole game. Eligio didn't play their best though but they passed and dribbled. Solar fouled a lot not even trying for ball as soon as Eligio kid got the ball Solar went for the fouls. The Solar coach was constantly yelling "send it" or "boot it". Eligio started fouling back at the end but just got tired of working their way back and trying break down 5 kids and a goalie all behind the ball the entire game. The wind affected them more the "kickball" Solar team
Normally, I wouldn't care and just laugh at Solar parents for spending money for such nonsense, but ever since US Men failed to make WC I get mad at this kind of coaching. Solar didn't even try to play soccer. It was ugly and this win at all costs mentality is ruining everything. That Solar coach should be down right embarrassed. I was so embarrassed for them I had to apologize to my DD for making her watch it and bought her some Starbucks to make up for it. Just good thing that at least the BB wasn't there to witness such crap.

Thanks for the feedback. I was surprised when I saw the score. I saw Solar G compete with Solar Dudley the exact same away. I agree its really bad to watch. Unfortunately, the parents don't know any better.

I can't agree with you more - the win-at-all cost serves no purpose at this age. Â Because you mention "this kind of coaching", how do you feel about those coaches who bark/yell instruction ad nauseam? Â Some consider it coaching while others see it as micromanaging - often just as bad as deploying a FRANCE 98 defense like you described in Sunday's game. Â
Is this style of coaching preventing the creativity of our young players? Â What exactly does it promote? Â When does the player have a chance to make a decision when the coach is "coaching" the players the full time? Â Is it to win or is it to develop?

Re: TOP 10 2009 TEAMS
misc talking points -
* Santos continues to take care of business - had a recent decisive win vs Brazil as well as very strong fall season
* PrimeTime league seemed to separate DTS and Solar Dudley as top of their class (at least within that league)
* Upcoming winter leagues and tournaments will be interesting to see if some of the teams get a little more commitment with rosters - seems at least 2-3 teams have key players dual rostering. Will all these teams be able to put best foot forward in tournament play?

Re: TOP 10 2009 TEAMS
well by looking at the teams in this tournament, should be one of 3 teams should take it.
1. Allegiance Black
2. Tigres garland
3. Ntx Santos
Looks like the Dallas Texans DTS SOUTH, has already been invited to Super Copa. This will be nice to see the others teams compete for there spot for the supercopa...

Seeding is going to very important for League Challenge. Wish DTS was playing, because almost everyone else is. It is nice to see most everyone laying it out there.... now let’s hope for some good weather!

I think this will be showcase of which teams have greatly improved in their play and development compared to teams who still play the American favorite kick ball.

Re: TOP 10 2009 TEAMS
Unfortunately, most of the coaches feel the pressure to win, coaching fees are usually a chunk of their livelihood, not to mention their egos. This tournament will bring out the worst in coaches, yelling at refs trying to influence, yelling backhanded comments, mind games, and trick plays. Some justify saying they focus develop during the season but we all know from the amount of kickball their idea of development is the reason we suck as a soccer nation on men's side. Allegiance and Santos are the only QT teams that will play possession and passing, Depew will pass but rely on hero-ball for the most part. But not sure any of those three will win, as lucky bounce kick ball and yell at refs strategy has a tendency to eek out wins which is why all these lazy coaches do it. Everyone else sickens me with their kick ball mortgaging good soccer and USA's future for expedient wins and cheap trophies

Don't forget the Dallas Rebels, who use 2 '06 kids on their 09 team. They will definitley be in the mix.
