Hopefully, NPL won't cancel half the darn season on you next year. They absolutely hosed our 02' Liverpool NPL team. Not sure I will ever sign my son up for NPL again after that fiasco.

Still not off my chest. That was the worst bit of decision making I have seen at a organization level. You pay to travel, have your kids put their all into the games, and then the teams you haven't played refuse to travel for make up games (and have already played 2 more games than you), so you just arbitrarily cancel the rest of them and give the title to the team that refused? Give me a break. Talk about a kick in the $%$@ to the kids and parents. I can guarantee the best team is not representing the South Central division at nationals.
NOW... I have it off my chest.

i understand the frustration with not getting games in but if the point spread makes games irrelevant these things happen....http://nplsouthcentral.demosphere.com/schedules/70547125/70547184.html

Re: Liverpool 03 Rush and NPL Team - Open Sessions
Point spread was not apples to apples. The teams that OKC gained all of their points against were teams we did not play yet (and were canceled). Head to head we played them with a non-NPL roster due to a conflict (notice we did not say, oh we can't make it to Tulsa this weekend as they did coming here). That game was close and given our full roster that was supposed to play them here, it wouldn't have been near as close. Arbitrarily coming up with a goal differential "insurmountable" is a load of garbage IMHO. It would have been nice to get to play those same teams they beat 13-0 too. It was not handled well and was not in the spirit of good sportsmanship to do that to the boys. What's that teach them? A team has a lead on you in goals, has played all but one of their games, so we'll just cancel your next 3 and give them the title. The fact that OKC couldn't make it down here should have been a foreit (not a cancel). A forfeit would have helped them anyway as they would not be subject to the goal differential by playing us.
Yes. Bitter party of a few.

My bad. I didn't take into account that there may have been enough games left so that teams were mathematically alive. Still hate that kids couldn't ay games regardless

Yea. They very much were. It was our first experience with NPL and it just left a very bad taste. It is sad that weather had to play apart so much this spring. I just wish they would have handled this particular situation better.
And now the monsoon hits again! Lol!

See you next NPL season.
@SDR, my good friend means well, he's just "passionate" about soccer.
It's a South Dallas thing.

Re: Liverpool 03 Rush and NPL Team - Open Sessions
TEPAL had weather issues this spring and had to consolidate games and experienced a lot of cancelations due to weather so I wouldn't throw the baby out with the bathwater just yet.
For example, we drove to Houston started warmups and then got cancelled 30 minutes before our game time for lightning so weather wasn't an issue that only affected SCPL. I can definitely understand and appreciate your frustration, however the competition was great and the focus on playing technically strong soccer was echoed by both sides which improved my BB's performance and appreciation for the game.
SCPL has the added benefit of allowing NTX clubs to play teams that are usually only seen at tournaments, so I think it's a net positive when you add it all up and your BB gets additional game time in an environment that is focused on development and success.

Re: Liverpool 03 Rush and NPL Team - Open Sessions
Some got 33% more.
We enjoyed the games that we did get to play and the travel was enjoyable as well. But really, it was nothing more than combing two teams and playing a couple of games every couple of months. There were no practices and the coach lived 3hrs away. It was a good experience until the competition for nationals was arbitrarily decided.

Wait! I thought our coach and Fagen were the NPL coaches.
Heck, this is no different from Team X or Imperial Select Futbol.
