Re: Liverpool Elite v. Liverpool Owen
This Saturday's forecast is calling for nice weather.
So, you KNOW that it's not gonna happen this weekend.

Well. As much as I'd like to have this game played, it may get difficult as many kids are leaving to go out of town for the holidays beginning Friday.

Then, I guess the team with 10 kids or more will win by forfeit.

What is the minimum amount of players can a team use for a U-14 game?

I am in hopes it just works out and we play. The last several matches between us has been basically even. Would make for a compelling outcome for sure.

I guess it's not going to be rescheduled. Have they already announced Dallas Cup qualifiers from CL? I'm not sure why I care or am surprised CL does what they want--to hell with the rules.

Re: Liverpool Elite v. Liverpool Owen
I was told we're playing it as the 1st game prior to Spring season and that they would be offered a spot if they win. Then again, since the team that won Bobby Rhine this weekend already had an invite, perhaps there is an extra spot regardless.

But....the runner up this weekend was an FC Dallas team. So......

Re: Liverpool Elite v. Liverpool Owen
Think previous statement is right that this will be first game spring season, and DC qualifier effectively based on Fall League position including this game.
BTW Liverpool ELITE reached the final of the Vegas Cup Gold bracket this weekend, defeating a MN team and three Southern California teams on the way, including FC Golden State, Dallas Cup semi-finalists last year. In the final they lost to US Soccer ranked #6 Valparaiso United from CAS Region.
Congrats to coach Fagen and team for a great run !!

That would require all parents to actually follow through with commitments..
Our England trip was cancelled (after some of us already purchased fights) due to many backing out... Some of us lost a lot of $. Bitter party of 1.

@CCM,
Sorry that you lost out on $$$ due to some folks backing out at the last moment.
I KNEW that was going to happen and I told you so.
That's why I didn't sign up in the 1st place.
Poorly planned, with the prices steadily rising.
I was waiting for you to blow up on the sidelines this past tournament weekend, but you were a gentleman.
I am totally disappointed that you didn't.
You could've squeaked out at least 1 "F-Bomb".
But nooooooo! You chose the high road.

frisco hooligan wrote:Maybe Classic has some conspiracy theories of their own... Like Owen bowing down and giving the points to their "Elite" counterparts (as I'm sure some of those Owen players would make it on the DC roster as guests)? It would be the second year in a row that "Elite" would have received a DC bid by goal differential...
FCD (Spiars) deserves the bid anyway... undefeated in the first half of the season - including the head to head win over "Elite".
FCD Spiars most definitely deserves the bid.

Why? Because your kid plays on that team? Or because they beat Fagen early on head to head ? Or because they haven't lost (although they've tied 3 times)? None of that matters when the first tie breaker is goal differential--NOT who beat who or who didn't lose or any other "who deserves it" bs.

Re: Liverpool Elite v. Liverpool Owen
FC Dallas Spiars is a very good team.
LP Elite's not in it yet.
They'll be facing a hot and cold LP Thundercats team, who will be looking for an upset.
CCM approves the name change, BTW.

No doubt that Spiars is a good team. I never said they weren't.
Although LP Elite is not in yet, neither is Spiars.
Finally, I have said all along that LP v. LP will be a very good matchup and that there is no way Owen will bow down to their club mates.
My point was simply that all this bs about one team "deserving" the bid is ridiculous. Let the game be played and then let the chips fall where they may. If Elite blows it, they don't get in. If they take care of business, they go to DC based on the long-established tie breaker rules. Whining about one team "deserving" it ignores the reality of the rules.

Whining?
Whose whining?
I'm not associated with Elite nor FCD.
It's a game played by kids.
So I don't see any reason to get upset and call someone's opinion "BS".
