Re: Messi
Finally, a reporter not familiar with our sport who understands greatness when observed and can relate what he sees with something he understands.
Alternately, a local reporter from the DMN, Tim Cowlishaw, posted his WC observations last Sunday after the US loss to Ghana. His general take was that soccer is "outside the mainstream" and the nations interest in the games will take soccer "not very far" in popularity. He later brags how he's heard for the last 40 years how soccer is going to grow in this country, but remains an "aquired taste." My advice for Tim, since he is an expert in taste, maybe he should review food instead of sports.
Good sports reporters, like the observer from SI can recognize nuances in games they don't know much about and think about them in broader terms. Narrow minded morons like Tim Cowlishaw can't see what's in front of them, but can readily dismiss what they don't understand.
I read the article in the Sunday newspaper under the headline USA Gets the Boot. You can read it online if you're bored. Go to Dallasnews.com, hover over Sports, click on Columnists and Tim Cowlishaw. Print, read, shred.

Don't waste a tree for an idiot. BTW Axxman Argentina over Germany? I have to talk to ML and see if he really wants your son. JKfinish1 wrote:Finally, a reporter not familiar with our sport who understands greatness when observed and can relate what he sees with something he understands.

Re: Messi
I believe they still need a goalie. Not to worry, though; They'll run up the score, then put their attacker in as goalie.finish1 wrote:True, Gman. Axx, is your roster complete, yet?
