I don't know the answer, but if you click the link in the original post, you'll see a 01B D2 team listed with Fagen's name. It seems like they're switching the coaches around, but I don't think it's necessarily a situation where Sawyer and Fagen are switching teams. More likely that most of Fagen's boys move to the DA team leaving an empty roster for the D1 bye. Wells' D2 team was coming on really strong in the spring and barely missed promotion to D1 so maybe many of those boys move up to fill the roster for the D1 bye leaving an empty roster for their D2 bye which they try to fill with players from ??? and hand the team to Fagen to recruit and develop.

Pure speculation.
