07 ODP Training/Tryouts This Month

Are any of the 07s planning on doing this? I know it's relevance is fading more and more each year, but kids keep going.

We haven't completely ruled it out, we'll see how busy we are. May catch a session or 2 if the schedule permits...anyone else?

Considering it. More touches are never a bad thing in our mind.

I am frankly turned off by $150 "tryout" fee.

Socceropath: Where can you find out more info regarding tryouts? Also, can you please expound upon why ODP relevance is fading?

ODP relevance fading is subjective. There's actually some good posts on this forum on the topic. My take is this...the purpose of ODP is to get BBs some exposure and extra touches never hurt. The detractors to ODP say its expensive, the training is meh, and you can get more exposure from DA/Boys ECNL down the road. The positives I've heard is that for its fun, meet/play with kids from other teams and expand your network, and that down the road its good for your soccer resume if you want to play in college (especially if you didn't choose the DA route). It's also good for those who don't have access to DA/Boys ECNL based on geography.
