Re: Plano Premier
Plano Premier is another league. There is no qualifying tournament so you just register for it however you can’t player pass players you have to use who is on your roster.

Only bad thing about this is not everyone played in Placement games. We didn’t as we had already planned an out of town tournament yet we beat a few of those team in QT and King Tut. But they put us in D2 anyways.

I will say I do miss how the refs that handled the QT games let the kids play. Don’t know if anyone else has noticed but kids trip themselves and they are blowing whistles. Guess with lower league come lower refs..

Not true...EVERY league in NTX has "lower refs"...

Very true, but it’s not just judgement calls here. Other day saw a call for indirect kick for a header, kid serves it into box to see if someone can get on end of it. Ref blows play dead brings it back and says it has to be a 2 touch before he kicks it...
Just too much lack of knowing basic rules.

Have seen Rush play, they are solid. Haven’t seen the Leon team play but they only lost 1 game in each of the QT Rds. One to FCD Academy & one to LP Carragher so they could definitely be in the mix next year.

Re: Plano Premier
Rush and Leon dont even play until the Spring, so plenty of time for a number of things to play out. Our team missed out by a point in D2 QT, but after seeing how the two teams who finished ahead of us are doing in D2 glad we have a year in PPIL to get settled and gain some confidence and then make a push next year in Classic QT again.
My frustration with refs is we seem to have had fairly young linesmen who are nervous to make calls thus deferring to head ref who is out of position (and this is coming from a parent who has a 13 year old who is linesman). I assume it will all end of evening out in long run.

Agree there is no communication between the refs and assistant refs. They are either really young or so much older it looks like they are reffing for beer money with some of those beer guts!

This is why I bring a 6-pack to every game and give it to the youngest of the Refs PRIOR to every game.....Never had to complain about bad calls....

Re: Plano Premier
Scores are all posted for this past weekend. Looks like Dallas Rush is still holding strong atop D1. Club Leon is a couple games behind but plays 2x this week.
D2 Dallas Cosmos are a game behind and have not lost. Texas Spurs and FCD NG with a rematch of King Tut on Thursday.

Re: Plano Premier
Cosmos should be in PPIL D1; they just didn't try and qualify for PPIL D1 so automatically got put into D2. They tied Rush during Classic QT 1-1 but both teams were missing some key players from what I understand. Would imagine they continue their form in PPIL D2.

Haven't seen them play yet. Times have always been off but looks like there may be a chance in a couple weeks. They definitely didn't have an easy draw in QT.

Will they reset D1 and D2 teams for the Spring season of PPL?

You would hope so but since they keep standings I don't see how they could as it would mess up the standings. Although you would think getting teams in the right division would be more important.

Re: Plano Premier
They used to reset D1/D2 based in fall standings in PPL but I believe that stopped quite a few years ago.
Had a team win D2 in the fall,D1 in the spring, then win promotion into CL D3 the following fall (when only 2 spots were open in D3 and it was only the top 2 in PPL and APL plus the bottom two in CL D3 that could vie for those two spots).
My understanding is that didn't go over so well so the rule was changed so it could no longer happen (pure hearsay I admit).

Yeah I don't think they will reset. The question there would be how would they decide who goes up and who comes down? Bottom of D1 from 11-18 are all pretty close right now with less than a month to go. Top of D2 is pretty tight also. You would have to say like top 3 or 4 and bottom 3 or 4 but I'm sure that would have been said at the beginning?

Re: Plano Premier
There is so much soccer to be played. Especially since the top teams haven’t played each other yet.
Fun league. There is some good talent among these teams

Re: Plano Premier
the "season" goes until end of spring...will be much clearer then.
Just pointing this out as you've said "less thank a month to go".
Actually, we're only just over 1/3 of the way into the full season.
