05 Boys Dallas Cup

Trying to fire up some 05 parents as not a lot of activity beyond the 07's who seem to get pretty excited on this forum. This year will be my first Dallas cup (older 01 son never made it), any idea when schedules are posted, anyone have any predictions on local teams that may pull through?

I will be excited to see how the 05 teams do in their first Dallas Cup, too.

Looking at the tournament site (http://www.dallascup.com/registrations-for-teams-refs-scouts/teams/requirements-for-dallas-metro-area-teams) it looks like all three local DA teams may get to go. It says U13/U14, though, so I'm not sure.

I know Solar Castro qualified.

Do you have the list of local 05 teams that have a spot?

Thanks for the link. If I follow the winners of the qualifying tournaments, looks like Solar Castro, Dallas Kicks and Tigres would have qualified. And the DA teams obviously. Looking forward to it.

All 3 local DA's are playing. San Antonio DA is as well. I would imagine Houston Dynamo will be playing too.

As I look through the teams, I don't see why a team from Texas can't win the 05 age group.

With only the bracket winners and one wild card advancing, there is no room for error.

Who do you favor to make the finals?

Chivas San Pedro looks like they will be tough to beat but I agree, lot of good talent from Texas teams this year.

Fc Dallas U13 Academy is a very strong team

Dallas Kicks are a solid team. So are the FC Dallas teams. Chivas I have not seen play. What other teams outside of Dallas teams are going to be teams to watch out for?

I'll take a stab at the brackets -

A - toss-up - no idea on the Canadian or Mexican teams. Albion is 500ish in DA. Solar Castro is solid.

B - I'll go with the Kicks. They've been very strong. No idea on Battery or the Mexican team. Kicks smacked Wichita head to head just before Thanksgiving, 5-0.

C - I'll go with San Antonio. Can they argue they've been the 2nd best 05 DA team in Texas, behind FCD? TSF is 500ish in DA in NJ. Premier may give SAFC a good game (a few premier players and FCD 06 recently tied SAFC). No idea on Mana.

D - The first game between Classic West and Dallas Texans DA will tell us a lot. Classic West looks good on paper. No idea on Rush or Angeles.

E - I'll go with FC Dallas Academy. Luccin has these boys playing some good soccer. Santa Clara looks solid. Nomads look 500ish in DA. And... wait for it... no idea on the Mexican team, Furia Roja.

F & G - I have no obvious picks from what I have seen.

This is a pretty poor analysis with a lot of "no idea"! Can you add to it? Disagree?
