I'm looking for something to supplement club training sessions for my u13 BB. I'm looking at traineffective.com and progressivesoccer.com at this point. I've got enough playing and coaching experience to run the sessions myself, just need a structured program to follow. Any insight is appreciated.

Youtube is great if you are looking for a specific drill or insight on a certain topic, but it can't provide a structured training regimen over time. What put me on this path was the fact that Euro youth academies provide 7-10 hours of training per week to kids this age. Your average club setup here, you're lucky to get 5 (and you have to pay out the nose for it!). We could pay MORE for 45 minute private sessions and take him someplace to do extra drills (and pay MORE), but if I'm going to be taking him to these sessions and waiting around until he's done, why not pay a lot less for a tailored, online program and just do it myself? I'm even going to invite one of his teammates to do it with him.

I haven't heard of Joner1on1 but I'll check it out. Thanks!

We tried http://www.renegadesoccertraining.com and had some success with it. The ones that helped the most was Evolution of Touch and Next Level Dribbling.

When my son first started it, I was thinking I wasted my money. 4 weeks later, I noticed my son had more confidence on the field, he was looking up more when he had the ball and took chances when he would normally pass off the ball.

Some of this could be he mentally thought he was better from the video but I believe some of it was better touches on the ball.

The good thing about the video is that it's not one and done. You can always do faster and work on better technique. This can also be done in your living room. The bad is that you either need to be near a computer or be able to stream on your phone to follow along. There is no download.

Screenwriter, I think you will enjoy what you find from Joner10n1. I'm extremely high on them, and I've looked at a lot of the online programs out there.

Just purchased the Total Control System from Renegade (good price break if you by one of the stand alone modules first). It will take you to a "special offer" page where you can pay a $147 instead of $247 for the whole package. We're going to do this one for a few months, then I'll look at either Joner1on1 or Train Effective. Thanks everyone, and please continue to make suggestions on what's worked for you. I'll keep you posted on how TCS works for us.
