Fall Season for 04s
Week 1 (SDL and EAL) is past us and I thought for fun (I know they are 7 and 8 years old and where they are now means nothing to wear they will be in 10 years and its not about results its about development. But this is an adult forum and I am bored so why not) would do power rankings. The rankings are based upon results in tournaments the past couple of months, summer leagues and week 1 results from SDL and EAL. Note from what I can tell there are about 50+ 04 teams in the DFW area at the academy level, but these are the best of the best.
1. Dynamo
2. Solar Red
3. Odyssey
4. DT Rosales
5. Leite United
6. Solar Chelsea Farley
7. TFC Volkan
Other teams that are outside the top 7. DT Manchester Densk, Bandits, Solar Chelsea Partain, DT South

Does anyone know where the Chivas team plays? Solar Red played them in a tournament in May and they were a good team. I would say they are in this list somewhere.

Re: Fall Season for 04s
I agree with your top 11 teams.
I thought you had Solar Farley ranked too high - but I watched them in EAL last weekend and they looked great.
Solar Farley vs. Odyssey should be a great game this weekend.

I'm curious why EAL posts scores and SDl does not??

Nor should they. It's not about the score or being #1 at 8 years old (or 10 for that matter). Call me at 16. Until then, develop skills, learn shape, and have an excellent first touch. American soccer is short sighted and way overzealous...

Re: Fall Season for 04s
One downside I see from SDL not keeping score is that it makes the referees (1 @ U7&U8 & 2 @ U9&U10) less accountable for proper game management. No need to jot down score (and report it) and by the way, why call that offside if the score has no relevance. After all, it's all about player development.

Re: Fall Season for 04s
The kids and parents are all capable of keeping score.
Its silly to have to ask "for scores from other games" on a soccer forum.
Forthelove only cares about "the top seven" teams so no other scores are even posted.

That is ridiculous! Its not a refs responsiblity to report scores anyway. Proper game management has nothing to do with the points you mention.

Funny that you of all people would debate this. Since you are familiar with NMCSL, you would know that referees in that league are required to sign and turn in the game report that must contain the final score of the game (for that reason, they MUST keep track of the score). So, it is the responsibility of the referee to report scores. You can either ask your son who referees for them or just read the following:
http://www.nmcsl.com/files/NMCSL_Game_Misconduct_Report_Guidelines.pdf

You mean soccer teams that are only three short years away from select, right? Then we can pontificate, opine and debate which team is the best with impunity as once they are select we will cut out all this development crap and get on with some winning!!!!!

Actually I meant that its always more enjoyable to make light-hearted fun of somebody else anonymously than to argue on the internet. If interested parties want to discuss the best of the U8s or U18s, that seems cool. Of course, the best thing I can probably do for my bbs development is go back to work so he's not sleeping in a cardboard box once my Obama bucks run out.

Here are the games of the teams above. Definitely some great games this weekend, will be interesting to hear about these games.
Game of the Week
- #2 Solar Red vs #5 Leite United - this is a rematch from the recent Plano Labor Day Tournament where Solar Red won 3 to 0.
Other top games
- #3 Odyssey vs #6 Solar Chelsea Farley
- #1 Dynamo vs DT Manchester Densk
- #4 DT Rosales vs Solar Chelsea Partain
- #7 TFC Volkan vs DT Massimo - based on Odyssey score last week against DT Massimo have to think this is an easy game.
Does anyone know the leagues where DT South, Centurions, FC Dallas Tate (Former DT South) are playing in?
Anyone have any predictions of the games above?

Re: Fall Season for 04s
I predict a bunch of 6-8 year olds running around trying to make sure overzealous parents get to keep their meaningless rankings.
Bragging rights at the office ya know...
You say, "My kid plays competive soccer and is on the number _ team."
Coworker replies, "Really? How old is he?"

screw just telling your co-worker...you can tweet about it...facebook it...youtube him dribbling alone on the field...the sky is the limit in this age...
Heck, I am thinking about buying myspace and creating a dedication page to each player on my son's team...

Re: Fall Season for 04s
As the first post said these rankings are for FUN and entertain purposes only. Do not place a lot of stock, bragging rights, emphasis on these. Its a merely a means to discuss soccer at an 04 Boys level in a framework most of us understand being adults.
Given that not sure why peopl like Finish1 and others need to come in and feel like they have to remind, poke fun, teach us of the way we should be thinking about 04 soccer (we know already and explicitly called it out in the first caveat.
But if you insist on being the bully and poking fun at our posts and somehow feel better about yourself when doing it than good luck with that. Otherwise kindly let us have our entertainment/fun on this 04 Boys Board knowing full well our BBs will never be in a World Cup, play pro, heck most wont even still be playing the sport at the age of 18. We don't need you in here to tell us that. Also we know 04s is about DEVELOPMENT not WINS and LOSSES, trust us that is what we look for in coaches, that is what we preach to our BBs, and that is what try to role model. But on here we can have fun and show a side that we don't show our BB's or our coaches.

I need a quick computational methodology to establish an LSQR solvable matrix for raypath tracing and velocity inversion in an azimuthally anisotropic solid for compressional waves? Can you help me out?
Or by numbers did you mean typing things like 6 and 8?
