02 teams in multiple leagues
A new thread to answer Offside's question about which teams are playing in multiple leagues. I reviewed the leagues I'm aware of and tried to compile data based on what's available on their websites. There's definitely been a proliferation of leagues in the past 12-18 months so it's challenging to capture all data. I excluded any 03 teams playing up in the U10 age group of these leagues.
SDL (Super Development League) -- 34 teams
CAL (Classic Academy League) -- 18 teams
PAL (Premier Academy League) -- 19 teams
PTSAL (PrimeTime Sports Academy League -- 14 teams
EAL (Elite Academy League) -- 9 teams
UAL (United Academy League) -- 16 teams
DIAL (Dallas Invitational Academy League) -- 0 teams
PYL (Progressive Youth League) -- ???summer only???
Teams playing SDL & CAL
Texas Suns
Sporting United
Teams playing SDL & EAL
Dallas Texans South
Odyssey
Solar Red Crushers White
Solar Red Crushers Black
Teams playing SDL & UAL
Liverpool Rush
FC Premier (maybe--not sure if same team)
Teams playing SDL & PTSAL
Wizards FC
If anyone wants the spreadsheet I made listing all these teams by league/flight, I can post it to google docs.

Re: 02 teams in multiple leagues
I am curious as to why DTS are playing in the EAL. Looks like a cake walk for them, except for Solar Crushers White.
Anyone have insight as the to the thinking behind this?

I have no inside information but I am guessing it is because,( due to the fact they cannot play up anymore,) any of the Sunday leagues will be a cakewalk , so might as well choose EAL. Not sure they would find anymore competition in any other Sunday league.
Suprised by how many teams are doing the two games a weekend deal. Thought it would be more....

Well there is also Odyssey and Ayses, wouldn't call them a cake walk. Where is Dynamo, FCD, and Liverpool Fagen playing? What other strong league is there on Sundays?

Re: 02 teams in multiple leagues
There are also quite a number of players who play for one team on Saturday (SDL) and another on Sundays as some clubs (Texans, FCD, etc. don't have the same teams play both days). So although the number of teams seems different, the pool of players has quite an overlap.

Re: 02 teams in multiple leagues
No disrespect Odyssey or Ayses but I think DTS is still on a different level to most of the 02 teams (Hey their accuracy may cause for panic & alarm but they still get 18.21332 shots per game )
It is interesting that much talk in the professional game is about the wear & tear of too many games a year while it seems most parents are happy for their kids to play lots of games.

Re: 02 teams in multiple leagues
I don't know anything about the DTS situation specifically. The nice thing about playing in two leagues, particularly if the competition level varies, is that it gives you PT for all the kids who put in the work, but maybe aren't seeing the field for adequate times in the tighter matches. And mix the kids in at different positions and whatnot. Or maybe its a chance to crush the enemy and hear the lamentations of their women. Or maybe its another chance to train the parent who is tracking shots on goal and successful pass % on Opta Stats.

It has more to do with giving parents something to talk about on this forum on Monday while we are not wanting to do any work.

Now I have to wipe off my keyboard and monitor. Glad I was drinking water.
