2012 USYS Regional Championship Tournament

Solar Chelsea 95 Boys won their first game yesterday. They are playing the second one today.

U-18 Regionals Update Today

AYSES 94 Gold 2 Vestavia Steamers (AL state champion) 1
Texans Red 1 FC Alliance (TN state champion) 0

Both North Texas Teams in the U-18 group will advance to the quarterfinals on Tuesday. They have both won their first two games.

Solar Chelsea 95 Boys go 2-1 in bracket play. Good enough for 2nd place and to move on to the quarter finals on Tuesday. The will play GA state cup winner Concorde Fire Elite.

Solar Chelsea 95 Boys win Quarter-final game against last years National Champions - (GA) Concorde Fire Elite.

Both teams came into the game giving up 0 goals during normal course of play. Solar gave up one PK during bracket play.

The Semi-final game ended 0-0 after regular time and overtime.

Solar wins in PK's and will play in the semi-final tomorrow.

North Texas has one team advance to regional semi-finals tomorrow at U18 level.

AYSES 94 Gold will play the Tulsa Soccer Club Black 94. Two very good teams.

Think of it this way there are only four teams in each of the four regions of USA that advance to the semi-finals (top 16 youth teams at their age level in USA)

Congratulations North Texas look forward to hearing the results from the other brackets today.

This is US Youth Soccer competitive club soccer national tournament. Represents the best teams in the nation (excluding USSF DA program). The North Texas teams are in the final 16 for USA for the US Youth Soccer National Championship trophy. This is great honor for teams to make it this far in the tournament first being state champion now being in final four for the region.

I was speaking to club soccer not USSF DA soccer. Not trying to compare the two opens a can of worms there are better teams in USSF DA program. USSF DA teams do not participate in this national championship tournament series.

Still a great honor for these players to be in the final 16 nationally for this tournament.

Looks like there are three clubs and four teams that made the Semi-Finals in the 2012 US Youth Southern Regional Championship:

1. Solar Red 99 - Lost today in the semi-finals
2. FC Dallas Premier 98
3. Solar 95
4. AYSES 94 Gold

Solar Chelsea 95 Boys win the final 2-1. They will be heading off to Nationals in July.

FC Dallas lost in extra time. Great accomplishment getting to the finals.

Congratulations to Solar 95 and those teams that made it into the regionals then went deep into the playoff rounds. It is very difficult for a team to win the regionals. We sent our state champions on the boys side and came back with one victory. It shows how very special this tournament is and how great an accomplishment it is for these teams who advanced in the regionals. Good luck in the Nationals Solar 95. I watched them play several times in the regionals, strong defense, solid goalkeeper. I think that is the difference for the teams that advance to the nationals. We played the two finalists in the U18 bracket. The team that won the finals today had the better defense overall although the other team had the golden boat player for the tournament at our age level. Florida Rush Nike won back to back Regional Championships.

I couldn't agree with you more. It is quite an accomplishment to go deep into regionals as the competition is very intense, well done North Texas. A big congratulations go out to Solar 95.
