Can a out of town team qualify for Dallas Cup in November?

Win the Texans Pre Thanksgiving Tournament. I believe it is an "automatic qualifier" tourney.

I understand that but s this meant only for the local teams or for any team. Usually the local teams are part of the home stay programm during DC. I was wondering if there are already enough local teams "qualified".

Yeah, it's for anyone; however, I think this is a one time thing. I don't think this will happen again next year. I think I overheard (wow.. that's a stretch) that the Texans have lost their "Dallas Cup" rights. Therefore, no more automatic bids for bad Texan teams to get in and cut quality teams out.
Of course, I could be completely wrong. If so, I'll apologize now to the bad Texan teams.

Re: DC Qualifier in November.
Anyone can play in the two DC qualifiers, however only DFW metroplex team that can participate in homestay will get a DC invite if they win.
If an out of town team wins, the invite will be vacated or go to an alternate as defined by the DC rules. Also if the same metroplex were to win both DC qualifiers, the second invited would be vacated or go to alternates.
FYI, its pretty clearly stated here:

Re: DC Qualifier in November.
from a cursory glance at the rules it appears a team from outside the Metro area can win but not get invited. I understand the need to cover traveling team lodging but this kind of kills the dream for Indies from Amarillo, Tyler and and ETX .

Re: DC Qualifier in November.
Dream is still alive, just means they have to qualify in the same matter as the teams from the rest of the country...It's a little more subjective, and generally a higher bar, but if they find tournament games with some of the folks that went to regionals and beat them that would help, beating the regional champion would probably help do the trick...Winning a DFW DC qualifiers would also help as a resume builder. If the team is strong enough, apply for a DC invite, and make a run at it.
If your not strong enough best to stay away from it...If you make it on a fluke, you will not have much fun there...example from last year U15 Dallas Tigres (0-16 vs Eintracht Frankfort).

Re: DC Qualifier in November.
'refs', I understand the point you're trying to make. The big problem for a team like ETP is that they can't qualify via CL or a subregional premier league.
I thought that was the whole point of this DC qualifier though.
it's a bogus loophole. Because teams from outside DFW obviously don't participate in the home stay program.
I thought the whole point of having this tourney was to make the point that there are enough quality NTX teams to justify another invite.
As it is the only thing to play for in this case would be 'pride' or bragging rights.
Good enough? If you don't get the chance (due to the flawed system in place) then how can you prove it?
This is why a relatively "newly built" team is always at a disadvantage. Why start at u15/16 playing d3. it defeats the purpose.
The only logical route for teams like ours is to play the toughest tournaments possible outside the NTX area so that they CAN get invites to the top showcase tournaments...if that is even possible.

Re: DC Qualifier in November.
I think the point of the qualifier tourneys is to give a chance for 2 pre-academy teams to play their way in. They didn't add any invites, they just changed two...Last year there were 2 invites for CL non-texans, now there is 1...Last year there was an auto invite for only 1 PA team(the "best" in the area), now that is gone. Now the qualifiers are there to sort out PA vs CL with a little competition, also opens the door for other good DFW teams who aren't in D1 CL. Last year the #2 PA team could gripe and say they were better then the CL 2nd team, now no-one can really gripe. I think its fair enough.
BTW, even if ETP won the classic league last year, they would not get an automatic invite to the DC as a DFW metro team. They could potentially get invite as an out of town team, just like they can this year. Nothing has changed in that regard.
Out of town teams definitely have a harder road to travel DC...and a team that is not in a metro area has it is even more difficult, because it will be hard to build the resume. This doesn't mean the system is flawed, it just means life isn't fair.

Re: DC Qualifier in November.
Can't, and won't argue with that refs.
The process isn't purely objective though.
Then again, few things in life are.
Bottom line is that ETP will just have to find another way in. More than likely for 2014.
In the meantime...train and improve. The team will find its "level" eventually.

Simple formula really. Play in every tournaments that you can find. Play the most competitive teams you can find. Win.
Assume you played in the Disney Showcase qualifier this past weekend? How'd your team do? Winning this past weekend's tournament would have guaranteed your team a spot in the top flight of the Disney Showcase. And a win in the Disney Showcase's top flight in December would certainly make a strong case for a Dallas Cup invite as it's one of the biggest tournaments of the year.

Re: DC Qualifier in November.
Unfortunately dragonstryker, they didn't play this past weekend.
Budget constraints and other logistical issues come into play.
But future plans for those types of tournaments are in the works.
In the interim, we will be climbing the ladder (hopefully) and try to improve our team rankings.

Re: DC Qualifier in November.
It appears that we have received the following "clarification" for the November Qualifier
1. If your team is a registered member in North Texas Soccer, a win in the tournament qualifies, being a finalist does NOT
2. If you are not a member of North Texas Soccer, getting to the finals will get you qualified.
If appears given this new direction that our little band from Longview will be trying our luck come November.
Was fortunate to pick up our third tournament victory this past weekend in Lafayette, LA but did suffer our first loss of the season in the third bracket game to CSC Fury 97 boys. We had already been assured a spot in the final (but the boys didn't dump they got beat 0-2) Regrouped came back and won the final against same team 2-1. Before everybody rolls eyes I would simply remind that CSC came to Plano Labor Day (GOLD) and:
drew Andromeda Pre-Academy U15 1-1
drew FC Dallas Blue 97 0-0
lost to Solar Red 97 0-2 in the QTR's (was 0-0 until last 10 minutes)
make of it what you will.
happy the chance to qualify is still out there for the indies.

Re: DC Qualifier in November.
As we all know, the scorelines often don't tell the whole story...
I'd like to add that in terms of possession, creating chances and shots, ETP was head and shoulders above CSC and the competition in general.
The team gives up very few goals in general from open play.
That said, plenty of things to work on and improve.

I do not find ETP funny. i have no idea if they are good, bad or somewhere in between. nor do I really care. I find your guys over the top posts funny.
my BB is an 03 so i will continue to hang with the other laid back parents in that age group.

I think even having a thread for u10's is about as far from 'laid back' as you can get.
