Looking for advice

My BB is an '01 that started playing rec last year. I'm looking for advice on how to develop his skills so next year (summer 2014) he can join a select team or tryout for middle school soccer.

He works hard and loves the game but obviously needs development.

We live in Carrollton so looking for ideas close to hear.

Soccer day camps during the summer are an excellent resource at a good price. They're like a "cram session" for learning individual skills and the energy from the instructors is usually very good. Sign him up for 2 or 3 different ones this summer. The last camp you register him for should be right before his next season begins so that he can bridge what he learned and go right into the upcoming season.

Soccer camps are, on average, usually quite a bit cheaper than other week-long summer camps. They're just a good value if you're looking for something for your kid to do during the dog days of summer.

My kids always enjoy them. I enjoy them because they're usually too tired when they get home to drive me nuts.

They are great programs for working on footwork and ball skill.

Call City Futsal in Carrollton - You son needs lots of touches on the ball...he doesn't need to know a double step over. After he gets confident, that stuff will come easy.

We are in Carrollton and are about to start an indoor league tomorrow with a great coach. If your BB wants to develop technical skills and learn more about being a smart player then he has the heart. We would love to have him. If he is dedicated and plays with us all year, he'll be ready for 2014 to play with our core group of boys.
