Just Curious why...

GROUP A & B
have 3 games
Top 2 in each go on...
and only 3 in each bracket

GROUP C
Has 4 games
5 Teams in Bracket
and only top 2 move on...
U-19 only has 6 available slots for D-3 ....
Confirmed by Classic League...
Split Age.....
U-18 / U-19 "Their Reasoning"
2 D-2...U-19 teams Relegated from last year HOLDING on to their Spots....

F.Y.I.
When you get to this age there might not be 8 slots as advertised for D-3

NOT ANGRY AT ALL...
JUST A F.Y.I.

U19 D3 is a waste of money, especially if you must qualify. Challenge fee then the registration fee if you win. 9 game season in the fall and you're done with league. The clubs charge full dues. If your team doesn't do a lot of tournaments (D1 and higher D2 do Showcases) after league and before high school season starts, you're paying an exorbitant cost for a 9-game season for recreational purposes.

That is why not many teams will sign up. Looks like you figured out the other 2 points.

Couldn't agree more. In fact, I can't even justify a rising u17 team qualifying for D3. What's the point? At best, they will play D2 as a U18/19 team.

Better to play some friendlies, tournaments and especially showcase events. Waste of time and money for everyone otherwise.

By that stage, players should know whether they want to play at the next level or not. If not, they can just play high school and maybe some futsal to stay sharp and get plenty of time on the ball.

Here is a good thread to learn about the 94's experience with college recruiting.

Showcase tournaments are good. But the level of the team dictates the quality of the showcase events. They give the players an opportunity for the players to be scouted within their 'natural' playing environment. But that is an imperfect venue because coaches don't watch entire games. A player may only get 5 minutes to impress a coach.

ID camps are better in the sense the players get more exposure to coaches to see their ability over a longer period.

I personally think the ID camps that are staffed by multiple college programs are the best bang for your buck. A player can only attend so many camps though.
