Confederation Cup
US pulled off a miracle beating Egypt 3-0 and Brazil beat Italy 3-0.
They move on to play Spain in the Quarterfinals.

Re: Confederation Cup
Although the US has not been impressive in this tournament something has to be said for the fact they made to the next round. After all is that not why games are played because no outcome is ceartain and it does show that the US actually has heart which I will take any day.

Re: Confederation Cup
They looked good today!
Playing Italy and Brazil was good experience. They need to try not to play a man down.
Maybe this will breathe new life into them. At least until they play Spain.

It is interesting how much better the team plays when they have 11 for the whole game!

Re: Confederation Cup
Yeah, that's going to be a beating!
Bradley needs to stop coaching all the long balls and learn to use their mids just as they did against yesterday. That's really soccer! Also, let's get those old players out and bring in fresh new players that may be able to help them.
Last, if you mark up tighter you wouldn't have to slide tackle which will stop all the red cars.

Maybe the US can keep Torres from scoring a hat trick in the first 18 minutes. He dominated New Zealand. But then again, it was New Zealand.

Re: Confederation Cup
Howard had a very good game but Bradley will be missed. Right about now Mastroeni or Edu should be on speed dial. I am guessing Fielhaber will get the start.

Guess thats why YOU are on a website talking instead of on the field playing. They played well. For a team a couple years away, they done good.

Re: Confederation Cup
Enjoyed the game - at least the 1st half...US made us proud to be soccer fans...Howard was awesome against Spain and Brazil...hopefully they can build on this towards next year's World Cup!

Re: Confederation Cup
I was hoping for close and interesting and was not disappointed (only be the score) I assumed 1-0 would not hold up but the 2-0 halftime score was a pleasant surprise but too good to be true. After being at the World Cup in 2006, we were discouraged with the lack of heart the US seemed to play with. After viewing yesterday's game, I am encouraged for what is to come in 2010. Howard was a beast and being awarded the golden glove was well deserved!!! Glad to see home-grown Dempsey playing so well!
