75% Rule
My guess is that the team stayed as TFC for the time being to protect the DI spot due to the 75% rule. Coach is not shown on Liverpool or TFC websites.
Will be interesting to see how it plays out.
It is sad that in certain circumstances, you do not have to earn a position in the league. Sort of underminds the notion of competition.

CCSAI will more than likely invite Andromeda Red, since FCD Gold folded

Figo folded? --yikes.
Cyclones in D1 will be very interesting, and with a new coach too. Handling the speed and intensity in that division will be rough. All the best to them boys.

Once teams don't make Classic, they likely are unable to keep their best players, who likely signed elsewhere. Teams folding may draw a now uncompetitive team into D3. Generally.

I wonder how the new TFC will look? They will have to face Mexico Fc, Sporting United, & Fc Dallas South. Will be a good measuring stick for this team.
Wow! I might just have to check that out! Will be watching the scores, for sure. Who is Sean Heinz? Is that the coach from the Texas Lightning? Texas Development Academy in Arlington? Those were the two references I could find from a quick internet search. Those three teams should be a challenge for them in the Puma Cup, but just wait til they get to play the real D1 teams. That should be interesting! I wish them luck!

Just curious, but how does a team get an automatic bid to D1 just because they take the Liverpool name? Isn't there a 75% rule? I know some players on that team so I wish them luck just curious how the process works. Thanks

The 75% rule only comes into play if the team leaving the club wants to keep the bye...so since Larry didn't take his team and try to keep the bye, then the 75% rules doesn't apply...and the club owns the bye and can find another team to join their club and take the buy or promote from within.

Re: Wes Larry from TFC - Not the Coach?
@soccerdad, If you read the CCSAI Classic League rules, it says that if a team at the end of the year qualifies for division 1 or 2 (and 3 if they get relegated from 2), the CLUB gets the opportunity to field a team in that division the following year. It doesn't really mention the team at all, except for the 75% rule, implemented im assuming to try and prevent abuse from club higher ups and to give some fallback to a coach if they want to leave the club. It doesn't even say that it has to be the same team... if the Texans wanted to promote DT North (PPL team) to d1 and kick out DT South, if DTS cant come up with the 75% player rule, then it would be completely in their power to do so. The CLUB owns the bye, the team does not, unless they can maintain 75% of their players, and the club is able to put ANY team they want into that slot.

75% Rule
The 75% rule only comes into play if a team changes clubs. A team can roster whoever they choose with exceptions for U19.
