Some will win; an equal number will lose; and some will tie. Force will lose and Saavedra will probably tie. That's about as much as I can predict.

chances top 10 stay top 10. I would say not very good. You better watch Texan(Connell) and the Gunners this spring. I think both those teams based on their schedules will make a significant move this spring.

How much more are they going to suprise us. Three of the four are already in the top 10 and the other will end up there most likely. Clearly all four look like they are going to be hard to keep out of D1 next year.

I don't think Texans Connell has a chance with only 8 points on the board. I'll throw some stuff out there based on existing points and schedule;

In for sure;

DT Craft
DTS
Andro
Chivas

Very Likely;

Solar Crawford
Solar Red
Comets
FCD Suarez

Last two spots will be a dog fight between four teams;

Gunners
Barcelona
FWFC
Club Classic

OUT;

Force
Atletico Madrid
ASG North
DT Red
Tyler Azurri
FCD Blue
FCD Gold
FCD South

So are you saying Gunners and Barcelona are 8 and 9? CCO, Comets and FWFC are better than both of those teams.

Bottom of D1 or top of D1 is still D1. FCD and Comets have accumulated enough points were they don't have to win as many games. If the magic number is somewhere in the 28 range (which is what I'm assuming given how tight it will be), they only have to win two or three games and they should be in.
To Club's comment, don't agree. Gunners and Barcelona are better than CCO, FWFC, and Comets.

I'll give you Barcelona is better that FWFC, not so much CCO or Comets. Gunners, I would have to say no. They have good athletes but scoring chances are limited. They do have an easy schedule but will have to many ties when they should be getting three points.

Axx, have to disagree with you on this one - top or bottom of D1 is a huge difference. Go look at the other age groups,

  • U12: D1 bottom team - 1 win, D2 top team 8 wins
    U13: D1 bottom team - 0 wins, D2 top team 7 wins
    U14: D1 bottom team - 0 wins, D2 top team 6 wins
    U15
: D1 bottom team - 0 wins, D2 top team 11 wins

Winning is not everything and does not equate to development, however, being at the bottom of D1 is not a pleasant place to be.

I think you are right, but the Gunners athleticism and over the top aggressiveness will give some of the smaller more skilled teams fits. Look at their schedule, they have 4 or 5 games that should be gimmies. I also think they will beat Barcelona. I watched those two play in the last tournament and the Gunners should have won that game (they missed two easy ones, and I mean gimmy goals), and that was with 2 or 3 good guest players on Barcelona at the time. Barcelona may be a better "soccer" team, but don't think it will be enough to get them a W against the Gunners. If the Gunners are able to pull of the wins which I think they will, it will put them somewhere in the 28-30 point range and that should do the trick.
Then there's next year, a whole different story and I wonder about teams like the Gunners and a couple others. Even if they make D1, what then.

Completely agree with you. What I really meant to say is that right now making D1 is the priority for some teams. After that, we will see the so called Sophmore Shuffle which will solidify some and make others worse. Or if a team or two break up, I guess it opens the door for a D2 team or two to move up to the lower ranks of D1.

D1 is a priority for all teams, if you don't think that you are smokin it! I will say some of the teams that end up 8,9 or 10 this year are not destined to be in trouble next year and struggle. They could get some influx of talent from top d2 teams kids that want to play d1 next year. I think it will take 30 pts to make d1. I think 28 will fall short.

D1 is a priority for all teams as they start out, but that changes with time. I think teams like the Force would settle for D2 at this point (and that's a stretch) as an example.

I also thought 30 points would be the number, but given how close the middle of the pack seems to be, I would not be surprised to see a 27-28 point team make it.

Who are the "gimmies" as you see it. I only see 2 possibly--Force and Blue, but I have to admit that Blue has played tough at times. The other teams on Gunners' schedule have all pulled off some wins that people thought they shouldn't in the first half so I don't think any games are gimmies and 28 to 30 points will prove more difficult than you think. BTW, the Gunners need 6 wins to get to 28 (or 29 to be exact) and 7 wins to get to 30 (or 32). The 4 or 5 gimmies you see won't cut it if 28 is the cutoff. They will have to have all 5 of your so-called gimmies and a win against Barcelona (or somebody else)--that's a pretty tall order. Go ASG.

The only place ASG is going, is D2 !
For entertainments sake, here are my predictions for the Gunners. Mark that counselor.
DTC - Loss
Atletico - Win (Gunners aggresiveness will do it for this one. Likely a gimme.)
CCO - Lets call this one a typical tie.
FCD Blue - Win (Gimme)
FWFC - Lets call this one a typical tie (very similar teams).
FCD South - Win
Force - Win (Gimme)
Tyler - Win (Gimme)
Barcelona - Win (my explanation is above)
That's 6 wins and two ties, or 20 points (31 total). Lets say they win the 4 gimmies by my estimation, they would need to pull of that 5th victory and get a tie or two to have a chance.
While we are at it, why don't you break down ASG's rest of the season for us.

Man I'm bored today, here I'll break ASG down for you;

Barcelona - Win (lets say they come out with a bang)
FCD Suarez - Loss
Solar - Loss
DTS - Loss
FCD Blue - Win
Solar Red - Loss
DT Craft - Loss
FCD South - Win (what the heck).
Atletico - Win (hey, they're on a roll and finished strong).
Lets see, that 4 wins. 11 + 12 = 23. Since it's the new year, lets be nice and pretend they actually win those 4 and throw one more in for kicks. 5 dreamy wins would give them 26. You still cheering for D1 ?

Hey Axx, your on a roll - why not take a shot at breaking down the top 5-6 teams. Interested to see how you think FCD and Comets are going to do.

Gonna take a swipe at the top 5. Bottom 3 of that group actually because I this the top 2 will stay the same.
Comets
Comets v suarez- Both need the points. could determine who stays up and who goes down. Comets inconsistant and FCD pumped to play. FCD
comets v Andro- Tighter than people think but Andro overwhelms them. andro
Comets v DTS- DTS
comets v solar red- solar red
Comets v fcd south - comets
comets v DT - craft extra cheesy
comets v athletico - comets
comets v force - comets
comets v figo - comets
4 win for 12 points + 18= 30 points. A loss on any of those leaves them haveing to beat one of the top. The key could be the suarez game for a cusion.
Suarez
Suarez v comets - Could be a key game. Game of the week but Suarez comes out strong. suarez
suarez v asg - suarez
suarez v andro - close but andro
suarez v solar - solar
suarez v CC - suarez
suarez v DTS - Suarez could gain points here. Seem to play DTS well, but going with DTS
Suarez v solar red - Red
suarez v fcd blue - suarez
suarez v craft - the king is crowned
4 wins for 12 + 20 = 32. If they stumble in the first 2 games they could turn the games against the top teams into must wins. not good
Look at andro and the schedule is not bad. They are a shoe in for D1. Would take some major slip ups that I don't see happening.
Both Suarez and Comets are walking a thin line of perfection. Neither can afford the odd bad game that reared it's ugly head last season. This also depend on if red is solar red or Slo-ar red this season. Good coach and I expect he will have the ship running 100% and Crawdad continuing his progression.
These are the pristine picks and you can take them to the bank.

Question. Both solars are in top 10. Who will finish the season as the "ugly little sister"? Red had some odd struggles and a bit of a change. Has captain grumpy righted the ship? If so it's an impressive team. Can Crawdad's team continue it's progression? Will they continue to let me down everytime I take my seat on the bandwagon?
