Look Out For Algeria In Group C
Algeria just beat The Ivory Coast in the African Cup, this team seems to be for real, with all the hype around USA & UK, Algeria is positioning themselves for some upsets.
Algeria is the last team USA plays in the group stages
Group C: England, Slovenia, USA and Algeria

Re: Look Out For Algeria In Group C
Didn't see that coming, especially since Algeria seemed to be in real trouble after their first game of the tourney against Malawi or Mali.. ( can't recall) But a win over Ivory Coast in the quarters is no joke.. Eqypt will be a tough opponent in the Semis..
so whatcha think? A Ghana v Egypt final with Egypt taking the glory?
Its been tougher to follow this tourney than I thought it would be.
now lets get Drogba back to Chelsea and let him take out his frustrations on some EPL teams.. I am very bummed that Essien was injured in this thing as well.
If the US doesn't quit with the injuries it isn't gonna take much to whup us.

Re: Look Out For Algeria In Group C
Well I called that one right.... Egypt is a tough nut to crack... Would have liked to see Michael Essien play with Ghana in the final, but alas, no such luck.
I did see this today, which is pretty shocking...That took some real balls on the part of the CAF to do this... and good luck on collecting that $50,000. I'm betting this gets overturned at some point... seems pretty harsh.
Togo Gets Banned for Withdrawing in African Cup of Nations
Fury flared after the Confederation of African Football (CAF) announced that they are banning Togofor withdrawing in this year’s Africa Cup of Nations. To top it, the country was even fined 50,000 dollars for backing out.
The national team of Togo was withdrawn from the tournament by the government as a response for the attack on the team days before the opening of the tournament. Three people died from the attack.
“This is a surprise decision and it means that people [CAF] have no
consideration for the lives of other human beings,” Togo Interior
Minister Pascal Bodjona said in an interview to BBC.
The government and the team expressed their anger over the decision that was handed down on the last day of the tournament.
The CAF explained that their decision was made because the
government still demanded that the team withdrew despite the fact that
the national team has already expressed in the media that they will continue to play in the games in honor of those who died.
This year’s games have already concluded, with Egyptclaiming their seventh title.
