'02 Soccer club looking for independent league to play in

Does anyone know of a league to play in that is not under the NTSSA "umbrella". We are a young "no fee" club looking for an independent league to play in while we develop our team. We are only 2 seasons away from rec. and enjoyed the independent league we played in for the last 2 seasons while building our roster. That league does not have enough teams for U12 play this fall. We just found this out yesterday and I'm sure it is too late to play in NTSSA sanctioned leagues.

Sorry to hear but most of the teams you guys played against did jump into Plano the closest one to you would be PSA but not sure how they sit since at this age most are in select leagues. There are also hispanic leagues in Dallas other than that you could become a tournament team.Good Luck

Did you look into the progressive youth league?

Yes, that is where we were planning to play until yesterday. Thanks for the suggestion

If you don't mind some leg work, skip the league and set up weekly scrimmages. This will work well especially if you do not mind playing on Sundays. Ask Sammy to rent you a field at FSP and schedule 1-2 scrimmages on Sundays. I do not think that you'll have much trouble finding teams willing to play. Just ask on here.

That is an idea we have been discussing. Scrimmage and tournament play seems to be where we are headed. Sammy is a mentor for many coaches in the area and would likely be agreeable to rent a field a few times this fall. Thanks for the input. Now we may have to see who can play on Sunday. Thanks again.

Yea, at this point, you are probably looking at scrimmages, any tournaments you can get in, futsal leagues - possibly (City Futsal and Dallas Soccer Center may have something), and maybe there is an indoor league somewhere for that age in the fall (not sure).
