DO mind getting into DC SF. Absolute disgrace and insult to all that got in following the rules!

Don't sleep on Gunners.  They just beat Inner City Mana and Houstonians (who are both in DC and finished 1--2 in PL) in South Texas State Cup.  The Gunners also appeared in DC last year.

They look to be very competitive in relation to Dallas Cup teams.

This does look slapped together (Adidas got in late as a sponsor for DC), but if Adidas does this again next year they will have more advance notice to attract quality national teams.

I think when it comes down to it most people could get past this if it was just another qualifying tounament because some of the teams are good. But it's not. Not only does it get u in, u don't even have to play ur way out of a pool (which in Dallas cup is a major task/accomplishment in itself), then u magically just skip the quarterfinals and land in the semi-finals. I think that is what rubs people the wrong way the most or at least that's what bugs me the most.

so you would rather try to find ONE wildcard out of SIX brackets to play in semi's. i like the creative twist, personally. like i said earlier, the wizards deserve to be in dallas cup. it would not surprise me if one of these teams won the semi final game in DC.

I did not see any classic D3 teams , the Samba NexGen is a madeup team and has no record (mainly of Samba Gold from D3)
I donnot see why they would allow a team like samba nextgen if there are higher ranking teams with proven rankings/record
This NextGen is a group attempting to be like ODP but hasnt seen any success ... They should have just invited SambaFC00B the actual D3 team instead of this team that has players from other teams ( LookINtoit )..

Maybe there were very few teams that applied, so there was essentially no selection process.

very simply put yes.

i would rather see two wildcards come out of these brackets than any of the teams in this little tournament.

bracket a - fcd premier or angeles
bracket b - mana or san diego surf
bracket c - fc golden state or sunrise elite
bracket f - fcd east or arkansas comets

four good teams won't get a chance to advance because of this tournament with inferior competition.

What if one of these "inferior" teams went off and pulled one out there (rear end) .. and actually competed and went to DC Semi's and then !! WON IT ALL !! Just like in the movies

kernow storm 1st place d3. what locals don't understand is international teams that come to DC are MUCH MORE LIKE SAMBA NEXGEN than our classic league teams. NEXGEN is only diff than academy, in that they have some 99's on the roster like every other U14 team in the tournament. the u13 academy's are the only teams without 99 players.

watched a 7th seed beat an 8th seed for the NCAA Championsip tonight. wildcards win all the time. if so it will be because they were better despite got-soccer's horrible ranking system bounce bounce

I dont know how I missed Storm they have been on Fire , Butttt this NexGen Samba team that is new and has played no tournaments under NexGen00 or has no game history to be accepted to compete for a slot in an elite tournament is alittle desperate, I understand what NexGen is trying to achieve but It hasnt achieved anything yet ESPN Tourney later this month didn't accept them, well we'll see how it all unfolds this weekend/week

it sucks for the second place teams from brackets a, b, c & f. i think any of the teams that will end up in second place from these brackets might be more deserving than any of the ntx teams in this bs tournament.

i normally support all ntx teams but this time i hope gunners or cvsc make it through. i would not want to see a ntx team from this tournament playing in the dc semi finals while the ntx teams from dc the sit at home watching because they played tougher competition.

I agree with you. Plus the local teams had to commit to host a foreign team. And I can tell you, we are spending quite some of our time and money after our two guests! Who are great kids, but still we are doing much more than the NTX teams in the Adidas Championship.

No might about it since the NTX teams in the Adidas Tournament did not qualify for Dallas Cup. The experience of hosting kids may be a pain in the neck, but once it's looked back upon it will a great memory.

oh, I am sure it will be a great memory and with time we will forget that we had to drive the kids up and down I35 in rush hours just to get them to their games or to the coaches' hotel. Too bad that we may be sitting home instead of watching our team play in the quarter finals while another local team may get an easy ride to the semi-finals in a much less competitive tournament!

there are some DC worthy teams in YC tourney. i do agree it is overall an easier path to semi's but i suspect that the team coming out of YC can win there semi final game. IF in hindsight TWO WILCARDS could have been FAIRLY DETERMINED to advance, i will agree that that would have been best course to take. i suspect it would not be so obvious or fair to select 2 pilchards from 6 brackets  bounce bounce

i normally support all ntx teams but this time i hope gunners or cvsc make it through.  i would not want to see a ntx team from this tournament playing in the dc semi finals while the ntx teams from dc the sit at home watching because they played tougher competition.

nothing against any of the ntx teams just the system.

both of the teams you are rooting for should have been invited to DC

Then, they had to scrape the bottom of the barrel among the local teams to put together other 10 teams. Very unfair to those teams who will be left out at an early stage of the DC. DC teams will have to win their bracket to qualify for only 3 quarter finals matches.

it sucks for the second place teams from brackets a, b, c & f.  i think any of the teams that will end up in second place from these brackets might be more deserving than any of the ntx teams in this bs tournament.

there are some DC worthy teams in YC tourney. i do agree it is overall an easier path to semi's but i suspect that the team coming out of YC can win there semi final game. IF in hindsight TWO WILCARDS could have been FAIRLY DETERMINED to advance, i will agree that that would have been best course to take. i suspect it would not be so obvious or fair to select 2 pilchards from 6 brackets

What do you mean? This is done in other age groups! Some don't have wildcards as they have more brackets; other have only one wildcard. It depends on how many teams were invited.
