Re: Any surprises in current rankings ?
When they break for high school will be past the halfway point, but D1 looks pretty much the same. FCD East and Premier at top and same three teams (tied with points) fighting for third as last year--Solar, Craft and Wiz. No real surprises in the last five either, with four of the five competitively points wise. Hurst hasn't had a result yet, so that qualifies as a surprise.
In D2, Andro Red at top is surprising, but if they are using some PA kids then maybe not so.
Don't know or seen enough of D3 teams to render an opinion.

Re: Any surprises in current rankings ?
It seems that the teams (D1) are a bit closer than last year by looking at the results. The next 2 weeks will be interesting since only the top placed team will qualify for DC and no further tournaments are open for this age group. Of course the Wizzards already qualified by winning the KSMDT.

that will be nice but defiantly a challenge for some of the younger DA players. i.e. a december 2000 boy matching up with an august 1999, U15 boy

for true soccer players that means nothing but for a BFS playing kickball or hell pointyball then well your spot on sirsoccerdadrandy wrote:omega striker wrote:hopefully one of the academy teams will make it out of bracket this yearsoccerdadrandy wrote:The German wrote:Not for this age group according to DC website. http://www.dallascup.com/Registrationsforteamsrefsscout/teams/747136.htmlsoccerforlife wrote:Texans fall festival and Bobby Rhine are both qualifiers and are both in Nov.

so your argument is that a true soccer player is not a better soccer player 12-16 months down the road? it might not matter much for a 20 year old but a year can mean a HUGE ADVANTAGE at 14-15 years of age. all other things being equal

I hear that FCD Premier teams routinely beat the FCD Academy teams when they scrimmage.
I wonder if that is true when the FCD DA U18s (with Aug-Dec 96 kids not yet graduated) play the top FCD 97 teams?

yep ask cali how it works or better yet go watch their teams play during DC, that BS argument about early BOB vs late is nothing more than excuse, come on sir you never made any excuses with your BB before so why now?soccerdadrandy wrote:omega striker wrote:for true soccer players that means nothing but for a BFS playing kickball or hell pointyball then well your spot on sirsoccerdadrandy wrote:omega striker wrote:hopefully one of the academy teams will make it out of bracket this yearsoccerdadrandy wrote:The German wrote:

it's pretty simple to put things in perspective. take any soccer player at any level. would the 15 year old "self" have a competitive advantage over himself at age 14. i believe so lol. i'm not sure how anyone could argue otherwise

my BB helped his u13 pre academy team draw, 1-1, the eventual DC winners, Guatemala earlier this year. he can handle an august 99 BB. he can dominate boys 1 year younger. pretty simple math

Re: Any surprises in current rankings ?
We are a bit biased because The Chosen One from the 99 age group (98BY) left us behind at U11 hasn't looked back. He routinely played up 2 years once he became available for the BNT. That's a big deal.
That's the knock out punch to the argument that a December 00 "playing up" against an Aug 99 in the DC is a big deal. Really, it's not.

well! we are splitting hairs here lol. he was in his own age group "98" on u15 BNT and now the only BNT team available for those boys to go to are whats called u17 BNT (or higher if he's that good) in preperation for 2015 U17 world cup. he is playing with americans his age. the u17 BNT will undoubtadly play some older boys over the next year. remember some 98's would be u18 in club soccer this year with others being u17 in classic club soccer. NONE THE LESS I UNDERSTAND HOW GOOD THE BB IS LOL

Re: Any surprises in current rankings ?
If I did calculate correctly then top 4 for fall (first 9 games) are:
1.) FCD Premier 19 points 20-12 (goal differential)
2.) FCD East 18 18-9
3.) DT Red 18 18-10
4.) Solar 16 20-13
So FCD Premier made DC (and Wizzards from before, by winning Memorial day).
First alternate should be FCD East and then DT Red and Solar.
