2014 Sport Source College Showcase...very pleased!!!!

I want to applaud the people that organized this particular showcase. This was one of the best college showcases I have seen (non-FC Dallas Showcase) in the state in years. I had the pleasure of walking around the windy and cold Russell Creek Park on Saturday morning and seen SOOO MANY college coaches from all over the United States (including Virgin Islands)...Even seen and overheard college coaches pretty much offering young men roster spots.

Again...very well tournament!!!

I was on their website over the weekend trying to find the schedules and standings so I could see what teams were there. Can you share a link? Also, did they play at Carpenter, too?

I did the same thing (looking for schedules), but couldnt locate a link either. I was told by one of the lady's that assists with this event that they do not publish schedules or results to the public; only to the college coaches...I dont think they played @ Carpenter.

I believe Carpenter fields were being used for the Tournament of Champions.

The Sportsource does not publish any schedules or results other than to college coaches. It was well run this year with the exception that on Sunday the late games had to be called early because there were no lights. I guess you have save money somewhere.

I wasn't aware of the Sunday late games fiasco. Hate to hear that. One of my buddy's son enjoyed it; he guest played with a team outside of NTX. Tournament organizers (from what I was told) really helped guest players find a team to play with during the tournament. I know one game I watched on Saturday morning; i believe it was a team from east Texas versus a team from Arkansas, I counted 12-15 college coaches just @ that one particular game.

Kudos to Sport Source for promoting this event.

In our game it was a decision made by both coaches and the referee. Everybody agreed to call it for safety reasons. The game was only 10 minutes short.
From my experience from Sportsource they are trying extremely hard to accommodate the coaches requests either on strength of opponents or like last year, actually this spring where a team dropped out and a South Texas team needed a game for a few coaches. Sportsource found them quickly a different team to play.

The Sport Source® Showcase accepts competitive teams in the U16, U17 & U19 boys and girls competitive divisions. These players represent not only their club, league and state they also represent future collegiate stars at all levels.

When you attend the Showcase you will experience soccer at its finest. We employ only the highest quality of referees to officiate your game and the fields are maintained by Plano Parks who continue to do an exceptional work to ensure the kids have a great place to play.

All game schedules are sent to the accepted team coach and or manager via email. We do not post a master schedule online. Why? We want the players and teams to focus on their games and schedule and enjoy the opportunity to be seen by the attending college coaches.
