picture this: bb with same coach for several years. bb develops (defense, mid, some GK) then appears to plateau....is it becuase he is too comfortable? coach not challenging him?
Does this happen and what are the signs?
What if bb does not want to leave coach/team?

How happy is he? Go try a couple of clubs during June, he'll get an idea of other coaches styles, let him make the decision.

He's a 98, what would you consider a plateau? Has he stopped growing??

It depends on the kid. There is an old saying regarding "familiarity and contempt". Sometimes if you notice your kid losing respect for their coach, or interest, it may be time to try another coach. The "plateau" you might be seeing may be because you child has learned to tune out his coach for certain things, which may be corrected if you find another good coach who has a different delivery. I know I can tell my own kids the same thing 100 times with certain things, but if someone else tells them, suddenly its like the light just got turned on and they "get it".

I would sit down with your son and ask him what his goals are... Is soccer a social sport for him (team mates most important) or does he want to to compete at higher level? Once you understand what his goals are it will send you in the right direction finding a team. Good Luck!!!
