Are you there watching it? From looking at the topdrawer soccer site and other places it looks like the Chivas USA U14 team is the talk of the tournament. The team is littered with US YNT players and won 5-1 today.

Lmao we did but just ran into a buzz saw. Jump on us 3-0 EARLY!!! The Acadmey is matching up U14, unlike a seeded tournament, where top teams are matched against other top teams, etc. Our two will be just as tough. Where as the lower seeded teams from the Frontier division will player lower level teams as to try and get even match ups.

well the chivas beat chicago fire today 5-1. FCD beat chicago fire 6-2. FCD has beaton Dallas Texans ONCE (4-3) in 6 tries over the past two years. not sure the chivas are anything special. if they were they should have played a real top team like Georgia United that spanked us today.

fc golden state beat chivas 2-0 and fc golden state got spanked 3-1 by vadar today.

It looks like Chivas USA has 6 players on the roster that are on the USYNT for U14 and U15. That is crazy they could have that many USYNT players on one team.

the most important letters in SoCal are oCal as in LOCAL not to say they aren't great 6 BB's but NTX, ETX, and STX have 6 each that can play with them.

Admittedly, I'm a Kleiban fanboy, but based on my quick scan of their results, Chivas has lost 3x in the DA this year and they were all in Sep/Oct 2014 and their rematch with Golden State in Feb ended as a 4-2 win for Chivas. Kleiban lost some talent (including XuXu) and had to rebuild so it's not surprising they may have struggled a bit early in the year, but it seems he has developed the team. Besides, this team went to MIC again this year and gave Barcelona a pretty tough match again.

lol just pointing out there is more parity than people realize. head to head is the best barometer but i agree ONE or TWO studs or lack there of makes a big difference. now all of the "ONE BB DOESNT MAKE A DIFFERENCE" crowd will chime in.

as far as losses, Dallas Texans u14 DA only lost one all year in frontier division but got pushed around today by georgia united. every other texas DA team won or tied their opponents today.

Saw the Texans lost to Weston today 4-1. Was Weston that impressive? They look to have two USYNT players on their roster, one U14 and one U15.

they are HUGE up front and back. very good team obviously. we bounced a few off the post and played a very "Solar Chelsea" possession style game, while they played a very direct "lets score goals" style. yes they are that good

Looks like Chivas tied Orlando City 1-1 today. That is the same Orlando City that lost 1-0 to Tampa Bay United the last time they played. Dallas Texans just beat Tampa Bay United.

Soccerdadrandy maybe you are right and Chivas is not the "gold standard" for US youth soccer their coaches brother claims they are.

I believe so Sprint. I'm sure they are very very good. That being said lets give the youth of NTX some benefit of the doubt. It really does have a lot to do with the strength of the opposition. I love hoe some of our parents complained that our boys just didn't seem to awake for todays 9am game. they are who they are. had we played a much weaker team this morning, parents would be trying to remember exactly when they fell asleep and how many calories, carbs etc they had over the last 24 hrs so they could "fix" the next outcome
