13 year old son desperately wants to play soccer
My 13 year old has played soccer since he was little. Unfortunately the school district we live in does not offer soccer. His passion is this game! He was asked by 2 FC Dallas youth coaches to play on their select club team, but being a single mom, I was unable to afford it. Does anyone know of any recreational teams he might could join in the Frisco/Denton area? THANK YOU!!!!!

Re: 13 year old son desperately wants to play soccer
You're a little late for rec this spring. The season is almost over. You can look at the friscosoccer.org to look into signing up for fall. For the summer, you will need to look at indoor like at PSA or Fieldhouse. Have you tried looking at some independent teams? Some of them have lower cost for your son to play at a higher level.

If he's 13 and goes to school in Frisco, then there is middle school soccer. And eventually high school soccer for either Frisco or Denton. And it's pretty much free.

Middle school soccer only has about 6 games in the year plus you'll be training at 7am. Ask the mentioned coaches if they will sponsor him. Many clubs have scholarships available for top players. (Helps to explain your situation to the coaches) You might also contact your local indoor soccer facility (Bluesky etc). Ask the front desk to give you the contact info for coaches in the U13 division, its about $90 a season. It's a lot cheaper and forces better skills in many ways compared to outdoor/club soccer.
