Re: TOP 10 2007 teams
wow...I'm okay with the top 7 in some order, but not exactly that order. Elite United has been on a run lately, but Solar McKinney beat them pretty handily not that long ago and Rush has been very tough for them as well (1-1 tie and 5-0 defeat, 2-1 defeat).
I don't think Allegiance is in the Top 10 at all. Their record looks good in PrimeTime, but the played the bottom half of the league for the most part (including 2 08 teams!)
FCD Che is in the exact same boat as Allegiance...didn't play any of the top teams in the Sunday league.
Kennington's team is struggling, but most of their wins in Sunday league had Solar club help playing with them. Some new players over the summer could help them pull it back together, including some Keeper swapping with another club.
I think Solar Volkan is in the bottom of the top 10 even though they didn't play on Sundays, they did beat PST in IberCup. Their only season loss was when they were missing players on vacation including their keeper. They flipped that game 1 week later in the rematch with a full squad.

Re: TOP 10 2007 teams
Here is my top 10...
1. FCD Premier
2. Solar McKinney
3. PST
4. Elite United
5. Texans Red
6. Liverpool Owen
7. Dallas Rush
8. Solar Volkan
9. FCD Premeir Blue
10. FC Legends
10. Ayses Gold (when the have that fast striker up top,)
Honorable Mentions...
Solar Kennington
FCD Che
FCD ETX
Allegience
Dallas Rebels (hottest team out of FW, but no common competition for good comparisons)
Allegiance and Che need some tougher competition to firmly seat themselves in the top 10.
The old Garland Tigres Top team would definitely be in this mix, but the restructured after last season and I can't figure out what's going on with them.
Right now it seems wide open at times...any top 15 club could have a good day against any of the others, depending on how the teams are rostered on that day. The most immune to this, of course, being FCD Premier Red.
It's harder to read the bigger clubs, because if you watch many games you will see all the player swapping this past season. Several players appearing for multiple teams from the same club.
It will be fun to see the QT when rosters are frozen (minus CPP's, but that doesn't really effect the top teams) and the true identities come out!!

Re: TOP 10 2007 teams
Two different discussions here...Top 10 today and Top 10 at QT.
I tend to discount Iber results as 7v7 plays out much differently than 9v9. But Primetime Platinum/Gold and to a lesser extent PIT painted a decent picture of the '07 landscape.
I agree top 7 are locks but Owen is closer to the bottom group than the top. Will Rush be able to hold onto all of their players? They had a rough Spring and with no DA path may have to contend with some defections. Full disclosure-I have no info on this, just pure speculation.
Che and Allegiance haven't played anybody of consequence but don't sleep on Che as they will likely stock up during the FCD frenzy pre-signing. And let's not discount the likelihood that FCD will place 3 in the top 10 when it's all said and done (Premier-Blue).
As of today, I round out the top 10 with Solar-Volkan, Solar-Kennington, and Legends in no particular order. Big wildcard is whether Volkan-Kennington merge to solidify their spot in the top 10? They play two totally different styles so it would be interesting.
Today:
1. FCD Premier-Red
2. Solar McKinney
3. Elite United
4. Texans Red
5. PST
6. Rush
7. Solar Kennington
8. LP Owen
9. FC Legends
10. Solar Volkan

4. Solar Kennington (Volkan merge)
5. PST

9. FCD Che
10. FC Legends

Re: TOP 10 2007 teams
Agree on most fronts.
It will be very interesting to see what Solar does over the summer. I honestly think that the right merging of Volkan-Kennington could turn out a team that could compete for the No 1 spot...depending on which direction the style heads. Kennington's possession vs. Volkan's individual skill/direct approach. I have heard both teams have been practicing together and with Adam Wells as they start looking forward to DA. Wells style is actually a good mix of the 2 styles where possession meets brutal physicality!
The Solar camp still seems to be split into 2 halves, Solar and Solar-Andromeda. Kennington seems to have merged more with Andromeda than Solar.
DT Red is a very solid team that could take the next step with some goalkeeping and they might pull a couple players over from within the club that could make a big difference in QT.
I agree Rush is sliding with the losses piling up in the spring, even if they were close, tough, losses. They are leaning very heavily on 1 player for results and that is never a great situation. If that players leaves, he could be a difference maker for one of the other top 2-10 teams...maybe find his way to one of the Texans teams if Rush falls apart.
This is the time of year that the "star" players from the smaller clubs tend to migrate to a DA path...Solar, Texans, FCD top teams could easily find themselves with 3-4 very good new players from outside the club, come July.

Re: TOP 10 2007 teams
By the way, I have not heard anything about Kennington and Volkan merging from anyone. I have seen them sharing players during the season, however.
After a slow start, Kennington went on a mid-season run using 3-4 Volkan players to bolster the line-up.

Re: TOP 10 2007 teams
Bigger question than top 10 is who rounds out the top 20 for D1? Lots more room for debate here. I'll start.
11. Texans White
12. FCD Blue
13. Allegiance
14. FCD ETX
15. Ayses Gold
16. FCD Che
17. ETX Wildcatters
18. Garland Tigres
19. Fever United
20. Hurst United
On the outside looking in...Solar Oglesby, FC Fast, Rayados. Dallas Rebels

Re: TOP 10 2007 teams
If we go off of your QT list for the top 10, then...
11-16 same as yours in some order
17. Some form of Garland Tigres
18. Fever United, but not Hurst United (only 1 united for me)
19. Dallas Rebels
20. NTX Celtic
Looking in...Oglesby, Dallas TNT, several ETX teams and FTW teams that thought they had a good chance!
I see a dominant top 5-7, and second tier 3-5 teams, and then...the rest.

Need to hear from the western half of the metro-plex. From previous years it'd be hard to believe that no FTW teams cracked D1.

Re: TOP 10 2007 teams
I think there are some good West Metroplex teams. I wouldn't be surprised if a dark horse made it into D1, at all. They are hard to judge because of the lack of common opponents. I think there will be several in D2 looking to promote. The ETX teams haven't impressed me as much recently, and they tend to have more common opponents. The ETX wildcatters definitely have a chance.
UAL and ASA just aren't the same as PrimeTime and Pit+ if your trying to play at the very top.

Going off the QT list, Elite United won't be making to Classic?
Garland Tigres lost some of the players after there was a word of them using older kids, the goalie is with Texans red, and 1 or 2 others are in Texans White, I believe some left to some FC dallas teams as well.
But not much info which ones

Re: TOP 10 2007 teams
Sorry, I overlooked Elite when listing the bottom 10 for D1 because I have them in the top 10 on my list. For me they would displace FCD Che in the top 10, I'm not sold on Che. Che getting better with the summer shuffle is speculative. I like FCD ETX better than Che right now, but I do believe the larger talent pool of the Main FCD will allow for quicker growth in the shuffle. I would expect Che to pick up a few players and drift them to middle of the pack D1.
With that information on Tigres, I would bump them off of the bottom of D1. Elite in the top 10 and Che to the bottom half of D1.

Dybala, good catch! I must have been distracted by actual work and it was an unintentional omission for sure. Put Elite at #4 and drop everyone down.
Any insight on what has helped their meteoric rise from the beginning of Fall? I've seen them a couple of times including 4-1 convincing win over Texans-Red. They've got a few studs controlling the center of the pitch. Super aggressive team, fun to watch.

Re: TOP 10 2007 teams
I agree with you FCD ETX might be a bit better than Che at the moment, but with all the shuffling and pool practices coming we'll see who Che is able to get.
May and June sure will be interesting as you said some of the "star" kids from the lower teams might want to find an spot in some of the top ones.
Could Premier Copa be a good opportunity for some of this teams as few of the tops are going to Super Copa?
Any update on who from the top teams is going?

FCD Premier is the clear #1 presently. DTR, McKinney, and PST are almost a toss-up (though I think PST has been playing best of late). Elite, LP Owen, and Rush are the next grouping (though I think Elite tops this group and Rush and LP Owen are in danger of falling into the next grouping). Kennington and Volkan are even and #10 is a question mark in my mind at this point (quite a few teams could slot into this position presently). Funny thing is, aside from #1, most of these teams are capable of beating/losing to anyone else on the list at any point in time. FCD Premier seems to be a bit more consistent at this point.
What will be interesting is when you effectively pull 6 teams from this list to form the u12 DA squads in a year.
FCD Premier Red and Blue mostly gone, balance form a new FCD Premier and backfill with Che's boys.
DT Red and PST lose most of their boys, DT Red backfills with kids from DT White.
McKinney's starters will be mostly gone, then Volkan and Kennington both lose maybe 2/3rds of their starters, with the remaining boys from those three teams likely forming a new team for Classic.
Either way, you're going to see a huge reshuffling in the rankings come DA. Big question then is whether Elite, Rush, and LP Owen hold onto their top boys or do they lose them to one of the three DA squads, which further changes the landscape.

Re: TOP 10 2007 teams
I received a PM invitation to go watch the final game between Solar McKinney vs Allegiance yesterday. I'm assuming the invitation came from an Allegiance parent, since he or she sent me a link to their game highlight videos. Thanks for the invite. To answer your "top 5" claim; if your team plays every game like they played yesterday. You are a top 3 team. And after watching your videos and speaking to some coaches in attendance yesterday, it sounds like you guys are that good. Congratulations on the W, you came back from 2-0 down and completely dominated the game. But you still haven't played most of the top 10.

Re: TOP 10 2007 teams
I was there, looked more like a classic case of a much better team overlooking and underestimating an opponent especially after running out to a quick lead. Allegiance is good, but putting them in the top 3 is comical.
They barely beat the Elite United "B" team and a NTX Celtic team that got run all over the pitch and dominated by Solar Kennington one field over yesterday.
I will add, Solar McKinney didn't look great this weekend. They seemed far more reliant on 2 specific players than I recall them being in the past and when those two were on the bench, their level of play dropped substantially. I'll be curious to see if this is a blip with them or a developing trend.
Either way, it's a signature win for Allegiance. Hopefully they'll start playing in the top leagues going forward so we can determine where they actually rank vs the other top teams.

@DragonStryker
I consider Solar McKinney one of the top teams, but I wouldn't say they're a much better team. They were outplayed on both sides of the ball. If it wasn't for the BIIIIIIGGGGGG forward #30, they probably wouldn't have scored a goal. But I agree, McKinney's team didn't look great this weekend. I didn't see the other two Allegiance games, so I don't know what happened there. But they looked very good in the final. And you're right, we won't know how good they actually are until they start playing against the other top teams.

Re: TOP 10 2007 teams
Congrats to Allegiance on a surprising win. Solar McKinney is a top 3 team no matter how you slice it. But if you look at their history, they will have a puzzling result now and again. Regardless of how good a stud you bring in, it takes time to adjust and like @Dragonstryker said its easy to feed them the ball and just watch. No doubt they will get it figured out.
Not quite ready to invite Allegiance to the dance just yet, but you got some attention. Good on you.
