7 DI teams and 8 DII teams. This is going to be a very good measure of where everyone is starting out this year. There are 3 DII teams in the Gold division. When you look at the preseason standings on the CCSAI web site, they are the first 3 alphabetically. Were they also the top ranked from last year and this is just a coincidence, or did they just take the first 3 names to fill out the gold pool?

Wow, that is a great lineup in the Gold division, and really for all three! Going to be quite a shootout.

This tournament is packed with all the top teams. I think Solar is still the king of the hill and they will be the team that will hoist the trophy on Labor Day.

Perhaps, but Solar has a bunch of new players to integrate into a "new" team, perhaps more than any of the top teams. But Solar's "loss" was on offense, and their defense remains solid, and maybe better than last year.
Will be interesting to watch this work in progress. KS will get the most out of these young men, that's for sure. Don't forget the sunscreen!

FCD Blue should win their division in Silver over Orange but they will probably end there.

Have they ever played any of the DI or DII teams from N Texas and how have they done? gotsoccer has nothing on them. Other than Lonestar Red in Austin, I haven't seen any teams that are competitive at this age from the South. Maybe they will open some eyes.


I revise my opinion on FCD Blue: If they finish tops in their bracket, They'll make it to the Semis before losing to Liverpool CC.

Be sure to check schedule, I've seen it change 3 times now for the 98's. Maybe it's the traveling teams trying to work it out.

Can't wait to see that Gold Division unfold! As I understand it, only two teams can make it to the finals. Some mighty proud teams are going to get humbled along the way. I have a hunch Solar Vanilla won't walk off with this one.
