In 2017, it looked like Texans Red couldn’t find a tournament they didn’t like. After 2 ties and a Loss in Bobby Rhine, they went dark? I know Salazar is about to get married, and that may or may not be related to the hiatus...but part of me is a little scared that they holed up somewhere (the attack room) and just went to work on getting better...or focused on recruiting Either one could be trouble. It’s just not like them not to play tourneys.

Rebels/Solar McKinney was good game...battle of the bigs. Rebels came out on top with a kind of junky goal from a mess in front of the goal, earned the win nonetheless. Game could have gone either way with McKinney putting several off the post. A tie would also have been an appropriate result. Rebels hold off another top 5 team.

Well they better do it this month, because points will be hard to come by over their last 4 games (Rebels/Kennington/McKinney/Owen).

Winning their next 3 gets them to 12 points, which is still not a guarantee that they avoid relegation. It is definitely do or die for them.

Looks like Texans South have the most favorable schedule of the bottom teams, but they also have the biggest hole to climb out of (and they wont start climbing this week).

Careful guys, I got blasted for making that observation. Good luck to all teams in D1.

Independently, I think 14 might be the magic number to guarantee avoiding relegation.

The good news is my fingers have thawed enough to type this after enduring some brutal cold on Saturday. No real surprises in the results, so the combination of harsh conditions and illness depleted rosters didn't have too much impact. Not sure the same can be said for D2 as they had some pretty surprising results at the top of the table.

The bad news is we can't blame Classic this time for being late posting results as the final 3 games were cancelled. Not sure why as the weather was the same as all the rest of us endured??? I will say the refs looked pretty grateful for the reprieve as they headed home early. The weekly pick 'em results will be postponed until the remaining matches are played.

Week 3 (Saturday)/Week 4 (Sunday) pick 'em:

Jumping off the page at me is Kennington's draw of TXN Dallas and FCD Academy. Its a chance for them to make a case for moving up to Tier 1, or confirms their current position in Tier 2. Do or die time for Fever to pick up some points to climb out of the relegation zone. Several compelling matchups throughout the table assuming mother nature cooperates.
