Re: 30th Annual Carey Invitational - U12 Boys Accepted Teams
Interesting mix of teams from D2 Classic all the way down to D2 Plano and a mix of teams in between.

Re: 30th Annual Carey Invitational - U12 Boys Accepted Teams
Help me understand the logic. What does a D II Plano team gain by getting their teeth kicked in by a D II Classic League team?
By having a gold and silver divison you are able to seperate the talent and allow each team to compete with teams at their level.
For the record my bb is not playing in this tournament. Just have friends on a lot of the teams.

Re: 30th Annual Carey Invitational - U12 Boys Accepted Teams
It would seem playing teams that you are competitive with would be a better experience.
While I agree getting their teeth kicked in would be an experience. Just not a very good one. I am not sure what the Classic League team gains by scoring 7-8 goals or what the Plano team gains by getting humiliated.
My bb has been on both ends of that experience. Dont think much was gained in either experience.
Just my thoughts!

Re: 30th Annual Carey Invitational - U12 Boys Accepted Teams
You are right, neither team would get anything out of it. I would just like to see a semi-final round and you can't have it if you go Gold/Silver. That is the only reason I think they should all be in one group but I am interested in everyone's thoughts on how the two divisions should be divided.

Re: 30th Annual Carey Invitational - U12 Boys Accepted Teams
what can it hurt really each year ALL the boys get better so i don't think there will be too many blow outs? for the PPL/APL teams its a chance to see where they stand with classic league teams and to me its a guage sort of? but for the classic league teams its time to look at guest players or to try different formations or players in different positions rather than just play your starters and put them on "kill mode" wouldn't these teams/parents rather say they played with some classic league team and lost than to say they lost to other PPL/APL teams in a tourney and lost????wareagle wrote:You are right, neither team would get anything out of it. That is actually the one thing I dont like about tournaments. 5 or six games in 2 or 3 days is too much. The always present chance of serious injuries become almost a certainty for someone.
