how much are fees for USSF Academy teams? I know FC Dallas is free, what about the other big 3?

Re: USSF Academy Fees
Fees should be between $1,000 and $1,500 per year. Travel not included.
I think you can safely estimate between $2,000 and $5,000 for travel for the year, depending on how many players per room, airfare, gas, car rental, parents coming along, meals, etc....
For the season that just ended, academies took around 10 out of town trips, it may vary depending on possible double headers in Houston and Denver, also, expect a couple of showcase tournaments that require 4 days away.
So in total you should expect to spend $3,000 to $6,500 for Academy soccer. This of course does not include gas and other expenses to get to local practices and games.
My .02 cents

Re: USSF Academy Fees
Last year we spend over $5500, to include tuition fees, uniforms, travel. Grateful that Andromeda DA will not cost the players anything for the upcoming season.

Do FC Dallas Academy players have to pay for their own travel?

Re: USSF Academy Fees
If the USSF academies for Andromeda and FC Dallas are for free and at a "low cost" for the other 2 clubs then who pays for the cost of training, facilities, uniforms etc? USSF itself? Sponsors? Parents on the club teams? Secret Santa? Who? Who?

My salary is X. My expenses are Y. As long as my family is provided for, I do not care where the difference comes from.Real Barcelona wrote:If the USSF academies for Andromeda and FC Dallas are for free and at a "low cost" for the other 2 clubs then who pays for the cost of training, facilities, uniforms etc? I believe at FC Dallas the player is responsible for the travel cost (last year).BTMason wrote:Again, Gentleman I ask... who pays for the Travel?

Re: USSF Academy Fees
I believe there are no fee's for the USSF academy. The fees are club fee's. FCD is free but you pay the travel, Andro is free including the travel, I hear texans is reduced fee's and Solar actually was more expensive than my Solar CL team.

Re: USSF Academy Fees
To the best of my knowledge FC Dallas and Andromeda Academy teams cover travel, uniform, club fees.
Andromeda coverage of the U16 is valid for another 2 years or 3. After that it may go back to regular charges. FC Dallas academy had been free for a while and going to continue being free barring any change of ownership in the club.
If your player needs financial assistance, you can most likely get it from Texans and Solar based on your financial need.

Well, unless the very top players are on scholarship, this blows a huge, gaping hole in the argument that the DA gets all the top players.

one would be very naive to make the blanket statement that "DA gets ALL the top players", although some have said that. i did notice a few additional players that refused to play at u13 joining in this year. but there are still untold numbers of ELITE players that are not on DA teams. lets say for now it's "trending" towards more and more joining in the future
