I do not have a dog in this fight so I will reply.

6 spots most likely to make it:
Andro Red
Andro West
DTX Red South
Manchester Red Devils
Mansfield Revolution
FC Premier

2 spots remaining and teams I think have best chance:
Wizards
Hurst
FCD Blue (If team has its core players)
Genesis

Dark Horse:
DTX North

Surprised not in it:
Arsenal
Superior Aztecas
Texas Premier FC

*Of course it depends who moved ppl around before April 15th as well, since we all know that happens
*Remember the kids are 12 and you never know
I am honestly surprised not more teams signed up for U12 challenge. So I guess some teams are happy to just stay in PPL and APL.

I agree. Only question is with Wizards. I have not seen them play. I am also surprised that Solar Blue is not listed.

I think Solar Blue has had some roster changes (not 100% sure, so don't hold me to this, just what I heard from a parent on the sideline, so it might be soccer gossip), so not sure the team that won this weekend is the team that would play in the tournament. There are a lot of missing teams... I think this year might see less of a change. I think that just looking through the history, classic seeds 3-8 are pretty much solidly better than the other teams.

Genesis has mixed results, but they look like they can score if the defense is iffy... Hurst United looks good, too. I am very surprised the top Arlington teams didn't register... I think they are much stronger this year than the top of PLano. Lucky for the Plano teams, because I honestly wouldn't pick any of them versus the top three in APL, meaning they might have gotten completely shut out. As it is now... I see 6 Classic teams, and Gensis and Hurst United. Clockwork is an interesting pick... but I have no idea if their roster is static...

Solar Blue isn't even on the "accepted team" list for the D3 Challenge Tournament - meaning they didn't apply to play - I think.

What that tells me is that they are probably bumping them up to another Solar spot. Probably planning on moving several players from Solar Red into Academy/PreAcademy, then filling in spots with better players from Solar Crawford up to Solar Red's spot - meaning several spots will be open on Solar Crawford, so filling in those players from Solar Blue.

If Solar Blue is not playing in the Challenge tournament, my guess is what you saw at the Carey Tournament is the team they are putting together to take the Solar Crawford spot - obviously not complete, but a start. Looks like they might be conceding having any team in D3.

Aztecas is listed in the Ken Smith Memorial Day Tournament. Won't be surprised if that changes today.

I guess 48-54 roster spots have just opened up in D1 between the Texans, Solar and FC Dallas. Would expect to see a lot of shuffling as they backfill those rosters with D2 players then those rosters get filled with D3 players. Thankfully, my son is just going to make the leap directly to the US Men's National team so I don't need to worry about all this musical chairs business.

Who is this world would want to spend time or their weekend watching other kids play other than your kid. I know I won't so let's quit the "No dog in this hunt crap"

Soccerfan39 I would have to say that a REAL soccer fan would want to watch the youth soccer! I watched some of the Dallas Cup games and I didn't have a dog in that fight. I'm gonna have to agree with soccerdad47 and go with the GFU@soccerfan39!

No i don't think so. My son does play and in classic league. He has friends that he has been teammates with in years past and we are friends with the parents. If they have a game that is close to ours in time and location we will go and watch the other kid play and talk with the parents. You just need to take your son to watch some youth soccer. Maybe he can learn something.

Not to be one checking the math, (I think I had this question last year as well) 7 brackets equals 14 so no wildcards. It would make the math easier if we would have 4 groups of 4. So I gues the 4 brackets would be 2 groups of 4 and 2 groups of 3 again. Which seems to always favour being in a group of 3. 66% chance versus the 50% chance for a group of 4.
