01 BODP Results
4 01's were promoted to the regional pool.
3 of the 4 (possibly all 4) are PA players. Rumor is that regional won't roster PA players, so I guess we will find out.
I do see that the true 00 from DTS that is on the U14 NT is not rostered in DA assuming due to lack of time.

From the older groups at the earlier camp there were
1 98 player, 2-3 99 players and 2 00 players held over.

They had a closing ceremony and announced the players from the various states that were selected. I'm sure they will release the pool list soon.

Re: 01 BODP Results
Gained some understanding on why PA players are not encouraged to go through USYS (local ODP).
"Both the id2 Program and PDP have been granted Olympic Development Program status by the U.S. Soccer Federation and the US Olympic Committee."
So, for an academy player to enroll in NTX ODP it would be more or less a duplication of effort.

Re: 01 BODP Results
My son told me at the closing ceremonies for the later Alabama Camp 5 NTX boys made it to the regional pool. 3-01's, 1-02, & 1-03 boys. The 02 & the 03 boys played up for most of the camp.

It would be interesting to see if the NTX players will be called again after the camp. Last year players who made it to the regional pool were not called for any event

4 true 01's naming them would be inappropriate! Not sure about 02 & 03's congrats to them though.

Why would naming them be inappropriate? This is a great thing they have accomplished. We should celebrate their achievements. Aren't their names going to be posted on the ODP website anyway...
I understand not naming names when it's a negative post.

Re: 01 BODP Results
Naming kids in a public forum is a bad idea, if you are that interested wade through the ODP site and find out...

Re: 01 BODP Results
I agree that if kids names are published in terms of accomplishment, it is acceptable to acknowledge them here as well. If anyone has a link, please share. Would love to see it! Maybe this year the kids will actually get called to play...

Re: 01 BODP Results
I guess I'm just naive to understand how it can be a bad idea especially if their names will be published anyway. There have been several posts that list names in terms of college scholarships/acceptances. How is that different?
Congratulations to those who've advanced to the regional pool! Here is the ODP site where they will eventually be named. They haven't posted any lists for 2014 yet.

It's up to the parents IMO. Did you get their parents permission? I think posting kids names or pictures without that, is a bad idea.

in odp and most other advanced youth competitive sports and entertainment programs, the parents gave that permission when signing the competition agreement. that being said, once a name is mentioned by "one of us on the forum" rather than a link from odp or news article etc., some well intentioned parents will disagree. but hey!!! WE DISAGREE ON JUST ABOUT EVERYTHING ELSE LOL

Congrats to all the boys who made it and I was certainly wrong on the numbers for the older boys.
