Re: 96 D2 talk
Assuming that all teams are returning - haven't heard otherwise. Anything new on any of these teams?
Club Classic West (If FCD Blk/Titans don't make 75% rule will CCW go back to D1?)
Andromeda
Longhorns Orange (now Ayses 96?)
Lightning Black
TFC
Tornadoes White
FCD Red West
FCD Blue
NT Strikers
Comets Blue

Re: 96 D2 talk
CC West would not move back to D1, the FCD position would be taken by another FCD team, likely Red West or Blue.
Here's the D2 scuttlebutt I've seen and heard:
Andro - rumors of cherry picking by top Andro team, expected defections due to demotion, still advertising for players during 2nd day of tryouts, predict middle-of-pack in D2
LH/Ayses - lost several players to DTW
TFC - held tight, picked up one good player from DTRN, probably top D2 team
FCD Red West - held tight, picked up a couple new players, probably finish in top half of D2
FCD Blue - lost several players to various D1 teams
Haven't heard much about the others

Tornados lost a few players but do not know if they replaced with same caliber. Comets Blue are also still seeking a "player".

Re: 96 D2 talk
Here's a rumor that I've heard from a pretty reliable source that needs explaining to me.
The Fort Worth United West 96B team, which finished fifth in Arlington last year, has joined the Texas Titans and is now the Titans 96 West team. The rumor goes that they were offered a CL D2 spot by the club. What, you ask? How could that be? The Titans don't have a 96B D2 spot. There are rumors that the Titans D3 spot is available for the taking. Could it have been the D3 spot? I asked the same thing, and it was repeated that a D2 spot was offered.
The story goes on that the team declined the D2 spot, which was probably wise given their standing. But where exactly did this D2 spot come from?
Is it possible that the FWU West team was offered the Titans 95 D2 spot? I don't know the status of the Titans 95 team, but I can't even imagine a team that finished fifth in Arlington competing in D2, at an age group up no less. Of course, it does appear that the Alliance FC team, which finished third in Arlington, will be competing in D2 this year for FCD. So stuff like that does happen.
Is there anybody out there close to FWU West or the Titans that could explain what the situation was with this transfer?

Re: 96 D2 talk
Slightly off topic, but Swindler's post makes me wonder who then is getting the Titans 96 D3 spot since the East TX team is apparently no longer with us? Would that be the former D1 Titans (Molina) perhaps? So in summary a pretty good D1 team ends up in D3 (and is lucky to even be there) simply due to their decision to leave a big club.
In this case it appears the bye rules are working exactly as designed...

From what I am hearing the 96Titans are securely positioned to stay in D1.

Re: 96 D2 talk
Club Classic West - They lost 1 to 2 players. They played 1 tourney since the season ended. They feel "ok", but not "great".
Andromeda - IHN (I've heard nothing)
Longhorns Orange - IHN
Lightning Black. - Had turnover; picked up a lot of players. Won Puma Cup, but not against CL teams
TFC - IHN
Tornadoes White - There was turnover for both Blue (PPL) and White, but the impacts to either team is unclear.
FCD Red West - Been active in tournaments; seem to have made progess.
FCD Blue - IHN
NT Strikers - Impressing in tournaments a while back; haven't heard much since May.
Comets Blue - Some tournament play; haven't been impressive...

Not real close to FWU, but my understanding is that some players from FWUW96B (and from an FWU95 team) did get on the Titans 96 W roster.
From the Titansfc website, there is no longer an ET Titans 96 listed. I suspect the Titans West will get the D3 spot the club has.

Re: 96 D2 talk
Looks like a great group for D2 with no obvious favorites. Should make for a lot of close games! It appears a number of D2 players from various teams went to D1 teams so will be interesting to see the quality of players backfilling. We probably won't know much until after Labor Day tournaments I guess.
Looking forward to hearing from Classic League about which bye teams made and if there are any surprises. It is beginning to sound like D1 and D2 teams are all good to go, and probably D3 as well with the exception of East TX Titans. If this is true it would mean (surprisingly to me) a lot more stability than last summer.

Re: 96 D2 talk
Spoke to a Titans 96 West parent at Puma Cup - He said that they will most likely play in Arlington this season.Kaivermor wrote:"The Fort Worth United West 96B team, which finished fifth in Arlington last year, has joined the Texas Titans and is now the Titans 96 West team.
