D1 Talk

After seeing our team play against 5 of the D1 teams this summer I would have to say that Solar Red looks like the class of the field. The other teams all have their strengths but Solar Red is very deep, very fast, skilled, and well organized. Have not seen Texans Red but heard they took a bit of a talent hit to the academy teams.

Which of the 5?
I agree that this maybe SR year. DTR did take a hit. The interesting team is the FCD Juniors....I thought the junior teams were all playing in the academy so how are they playing in the league? From what eveyone is saying, no fees?

CDI, Chivas, FC Dallas, Solar Red, and the Comets. The junior team is supposedly an age pure for the 95 birth year.

I am very curious about what they are cooking up over there in the FCD kitchen. Recipe: add two D1 teams, half dozen scholarship players, four strong D1 players. Stir vigorously, bake for one summer, then whip to a froth. Sprinkle with ordinary half-baked parents...and viola: October surprise!

What is FCD cooking ? the rules...

And yes, Solar Red is most impressive. Fast, skilled, but also nice kids. CDI is pretty strong too- it will be fun to watch.

I’ll try to catch up with you at DP in the afternoon. I’ll keep an eye out for a lady with a fetching green turtleneck sweater, short haircut, and shortage of facial features.

Sadly I will not be at DP- it will have to wait until Plano Labor Day! But I will try to wear a different tiara than Goal4Momma!

Regulation play ended in 0-0 tie. No OT play, straight to shoot outs and Solar came out on top. LH Orange is a very strong team. They retained only 4-5 of their players from last year and added a defender from SR. They have a lot of size and speed including a very tall and fast forward and are a very physical team. They should do well in D2 if they can get their scoring down. Solar has 3 new forwards and likewise are working out the kinks. It was a fun game to watch!

What happened to the "Eagle" avatar? I'm not sure this is an improvement.
