I don't think it was dig on Stricker, Odyssey has been inconsistent and looking like two different teams depending on the week so I think it was more like an acknowledgement that if odyssey shows up it will be a good challenging game otherwise it won't be.

PLF is 100% correct; it has zero to do with Stricker...  That team is doing well, and I hope that when we meet that we are looking more like the team we have been in lieu of the team we have been as of late...  Nobody wants a lopsided game...

I want to play central defender cause a fat striker would keep me in the game and could carry the paddles while I carry the defib battery pack. Detente would be guaranteed.

I can still smother him in his sleep so he doesn't really get mean yet.

Anyone have the score of the Andro v Cruz game?

1-1 Andro is Solar now, 20 shots, post after post,missed penalty and Cruz Azul scored their one free kick with less than 10 minutes eft. Three games in a row Texans, Castro & Cruz we just did not finish & in the last 10 minutes of all 3 gave a goal away. No one to blame but us.

I got a chance to watch some of this match. I thought Odessy did a good job of moving the ball around and using the middle to distribute.

Solar plays with very high pressure on the ball. They make you pay for every bad pass or poor touch.

Wow what a great game!!  Both teams looked a bit tired especially early on but I'm thinking that's because it was Wednesday at 6:30...thanks Classic League : (
Odyssey's movement without the ball is impressive which makes their passing a thing of beauty.  They controlled the midfield & made the easy passes.  ODY's defense did a good job holding the SR scoring machine in check.  Bravo to the ODY keeper!  He made 2 great saves to keep ODY close.  Solar is as advertised, high pressure on offense, they just keep coming for 80 mins & solid on defense inside the 18.  If you're lucky enough to get by their backs you still have to deal with their keeper who appears to be pretty good.  It was a fairly clean game by both teams. SR got away with a few hard fouls & ODY was quite grabby but the refs let them work it out which I like.  SR's 1st goal was a nice shot just over the head of the ODY keeper. The 2nd goal was simply a hustle play..SR's left forward coming off the bench working hard & following a shot. SR missed 2 headers in the box & blew 3 more shots just over the bar.  ODY missed 3-4 shots just left & right of the far posts.  Both teams had their share of opportunities.  Fun game to watch.  Good luck to both teams going forward.

It was an interesting matchup between 2 completely different styles... Could have gone either way, but the ball fell in the right place for Solar last night, so congrats to them... Ody held possession, but never really got rolling offensively... Many of the strongest attacking players (for Ody) sat on the bench after Ody was down 1-0, which seems to be the opposite of what one would expect in that situation... Kid who scored a hat trick last weekend in the Saturday SRPL game sat 32 minutes of the 2nd half, and only came in at the very end... I'm sure I will be scratching my head on that one for quite a while; I expected to see him play most of that match... Weird night, and already looking towards round #2; it was a good match to watch despite the obstacles...

the #13 on ody was smooth definitely the best pure player on the field IMOO. He looks like he could play DA. Which begs the question on how many times DA teams scout and poach players from non-DA clubs?

It is mandated by US Soccer that DA clubs do just that. Scout

Less and less as DA is better understood and people don't buy into how EXPENSIVE travel is. There are actually fewer (yet more meaningful and competitive games) $1600 scholarship for travel for income challenged families. Any boy or family looking to play in DA should email a DA Club and ask to be scouted or for a tryout ANYTIME.

My kid quit ODP after they gave this same #13 Ody player low scores at the Alabama Camp. I guess he saw the same thing Ehlodog sees.
