U-11 Classic D2 Predictions

I caught the first part of the Volkan Carragher game and watched Volkan go up early. From the first few minutes, I didn't think this was going to be their only goal of the game. There was a pretty questionable hand ball call where the kid jumped in the air and turned his back on a shot attempt that hit him in the elbow. It set up a free kick that LP scored on. Another goal came off another free kick from an unintentional header. After these, Volkan seemed to play slow and never really got back in it. I didn't see the other goals. I could see the game turn and knew it was over. Carragher was feeding off the success they were seeing. You could tell this game meant a lot to them (and their parents).

Maybe Volkan's kids need to spend a few sessions on set pieces with McKinney

If you can get Volkan down early, you can beat them. If they get rolling you might be in trouble. They are one of the most interesting teams struggling to find their identity. I also saw them play their pants off against an elite level TSC in the labor day tourney...A tail of two teams. If they can figure this out, then lookout D1. If not, then hello middle of the pack D2.

Thanks.....after the beating i took for my opinion. The carragher - volkan game had nothing to do with volkan but everything to do with the way carragher played......today they were the better team .. my hats off to them.....

Are you a Volkan parent?  They seem to be an amicable group.

My BB and I showed up early to catch a few games before he played. We got a chance to watch the first Carragher-Volkan game in QT. I was interested to see if that game was a fluke and how Volkan would respond.

Not too sure what game DblDown watched, but this game was as complete domination from the first whistle as I have seen this season. Volkan did go up early in the game, thanks to an own goal, where the Carragher defender attempted to clear a corner, mishit the ball and it trickled into Carragher's goal. From the beginning, Carragher where the aggressors. Volkan struggled with the speed and aggressiveness that Carragher played with.. It looked like they were a gear or two slower throughout the game. The striker in question was playing, but was a non factor.

Carragher is a team that is improving, though I don't think they are ready to hang with the big boys just yet. I never got a chance to see them prior to QT, but with their results since then,I have to give kudos to Carragher and to Solar55555555, I was the one that said Volkan would come out and dominate. I was wrong

Based on how they are playing, this might be a more accurate reflection of the TOP 4 and some of them already played each other..

Rush and Martinez tied, Martinez beat Carragher, Carragher beat Volkan, FC Legends have not played anybody yet.

Wouldn't be surprised if these are the TOP 4 in May 2018.

I wouldn't count out Rayos. We have played them a couple of times. They are a strong little team that plays a quality brand of soccer.

Based on seeing Legends play, I’d bet there is at least a 90% chance that Rush and Legends make D1. There will be a fight for the last two spots between 4 teams. I’m sure you all which four teams will be fighting for the last 2 spots.

I like legends but legends didnt upgrade . This is basically the same team as academy. Beat a bad team and beat them bad but struggle against good teams.They are athletic and fun to watch, but not picking them to finish in the top 4.

Scouting report yesterday got a chance to catch 4 games off and on.......
The rayos vs heighway game was just as it sounds on paper BAD no fault to rayos they dominated everyrhing up top. Heighway looks to be headed out of classic league.
Martinez vs lightning. Martinez dominated a good lighning team. Martinez ability to move the ball was just to much for lightning ( speed of the game ) a top 4 team
Legends vs AAOS Legends atheletic ability was on display as usual but they struggled defensively . Im just wonder how they will slow down some of the better teams
Carragher vs premier ugly game. Only caught the first half but carragher struggled to win a ball in the middle the first 15 minutes. I left thinking this maybe the upset of the day. This didnt look like the midfield i seen a few weeks ago.Volkan should be shakin there heads.

I feel like there are some underrated teams in the league that are out playing supposedly better teams. And a lot people are calling it flukes or lucky. Liverpool Carragher being one of these teams. They are passing more, their defense is solid, all players seem to give 100%, and when they figure out how to finish more goals.... they could dominate D2.

There is no question they are a good team. I don't think anybody here has called LP Carragher wins a fluke...They are a good team with just one loss in D2. The next 2 weeks will be telling as they play Rayos and Dallas Rush. But at this point, they do look like one of the TOP 4 for D1 promotion next year.
