Local Teams U12 DA Scores

Since the DA site doesn't appear to keep track the score, I thought I'd start adding them here.

Please correct, update, etc., going forward. Calling the two squads "A" and "B" - if they are identified some other way, please update.

The point of DA is different than Classic League in that the teams are not playing for a league title at this age. There is nothing to win, so scores don't matter. To over anxious parents, it probably matters a lot.

What I do find as a local flaw in the U12 DA is the concept of Team A and Team B.

I believe it sends the wrong message, where kids (and parents) on Team A are considered better than kids on Team B. At 12 years old, it's nearly impossible to pick the kids who have the most potential.

Sorry - I should have added a trigger warning - "anyone who finds keeping score or identifying the teams after coaches split the players up may find this post upsetting."

Nothing wrong with finding out the scores. I would be curious too. Last year they did record the scores and attach the game report for the U12 age group on the DA web site. I guess they have decided not to do that this season. I know they have asked the DA teams to not set "A" or "B" teams each week this season. I am sure the coaches will strictly follow that suggestion. Lol

Good to hear the DA is not posting the U12 scores. These are small sided games anyway.

I will tell you something else I believe the DA should do at this age that promotes player and team development:

The keeper should only be allowed to play the ball to the defense so that attacks begin from the back. And, by doing so, the offense would not be able to attack the defense until the ball is played out of the back.

On the small fields, having a keeper punt a ball or take goal kicks does little to promote understanding of the game.

Don't worry about Team A and B for U12s....next year they need to cut several players as the roster size decreases....

Hey JB TX ...your scores for Solar are off. I'm sure cuz now that BB is not playing for them, this is your intent to call out scores. REALLY DUDE!

That Solar team has three players that are probably as good as anybody in the age group. They're way ahead of the pack. I haven't seen anybody that I would rate as high, and I wouldn't be at all surprised if one or more ends up in a BNT camp even though that is a long way away. Outside of those three they have a lot of really strong players and a legendary coach. I have nothing but admiration for all of them.

Like I said at the start, feel free to fix any scores that are incorrect.

BB not playing for U12 DA so no skin in the game but if we don't track scores, how do we know if a team is developing again? Should we track possession and passes completed instead? I am on my 2nd BB going through Classic/PPL and such and always enjoy seeing the teams move up and down the standings, getting promoted to division up and such. Shows progression which = development?

JB TX...when are you posting scores from last weekends games?

Only game I know from last weekend was Dynamo A beat FCD A 5-2.

Anybody have the other scores?
