What about FC Dallas Vahidtari? haven't heard of this team until IberCup but they held they're own. Anyone know where they're based out of?

Re: Top 10 2009
I think the Tigres are still no. 1. Sao Paolo/City FC isn't even a team. It's Sao Paolo with 5 guest players. How can that be No.1? FCD Adrian had players on their team that play for DTS and FCD Red.
Which teams play a majoirty of games with their own players??

Re: Top 10 2009
Although you do have to take tournament results with a grain of salt, guest players are pretty free flowing at this age in general...You can write in payers on the roster before the game in a lot of academy leagues. That is always a variable. None of it really tightens up until U11.
Several of the teams in IberCup don’t really exist.

Re: Top 10 2009
Own players would be - Tigres, Allegiance, NTX Santos (we still rocking 2 2010's on the roster), FCD Red and Blue, & Solar. Now narrow those by the passing vs kickball team list goes down to 2 maybe 3 passing teams. That's the real list.
soccerdad100 likes to stir stuff up anyways with his rankings. I like it honestly gets people pounding chests. Would prefer he puts us NTX SANTOS last as we really don't care where we are at this age.
NTX Santos had a blast at IBER. Would have loved to gone farther but sometimes it doesn't break that way. Unfortunate on the schedule but our boys played some great passing style soccer and never abandoned it - let me tell you was fun to watch. More importantly the Kids had fun and learned some things they need to work on.
Heck we got clobbered last week 10-0 by FCD 08 academy RED i.e PSG in PIT 08 platinum/gold and never stopped trying to build out from back. Thats why we love the PLA and coach Renato so much.
On to SuperCopa now!

Re: Top 10 2009
I love the drama and arguments from the rankings...Plus it gives me something to read when I am on boring Conference Calls...lol.
The 09 bracket has a lot of parity...It's interesting that Sao Paulo won when they themselves are a Silver team, and the City FC kids have been getting killed in Gold. But together unstoppable!!....Maybe.

Re: Top 10 2009
Ha same here. Joys of a IT Consultant. Honestly the Sao Paolo game I thought we (Santos) played well but made some what i call "its 8am and they are 8 years old mistakes" in first half our passing and give n go's werent crisp. I know alot of the boys on the city futsal side, great boys great families. Only thing i didnt like is that instead of using some the talent they have (have 2 great and dribbling passing kids from CFC), Sao Paolo decided to not even try to pass and played kickball. I was sad that happened because i wanted to see our kids try to pass and dribble against each other. I am fan of those 2 CFC kids and didnt see them how they should or could be used - wasted opportunity. Thought that was a disappointing move by their coach and it robs my kid of getting better through good competition.
Two mistakes off bouncing kickballs cost us and we ended tied - something to work on. We didn't execute our pks and they did. It happens to even world cup teams - something else to improve. I hope they stay together and I hope next time we play we can let iron sharpen iron and challenge each other passing and possession wise

Re: Top 10 2009
Maybe Sao Paulo continues to connect for future tournaments. I dont see anything wrong with guest playing with in the rules, train with one coach then play with another especially in competitive tournaments. If a player is good on a below average team nothing wrong with guest playing with one of the top teams that are playing. Although I'm sure all teams carried guest players, some times team chemistry trumps over all talent. We would be talking about FCD Adrian today if it wasn't for the whole pk debacle. In my opinion they appeard to be less talented group but beat 2 group #1s Tigres and United to get to the final. SP and FCD Adrian had the mojo flowing this past weekend thats for sure!

Ehlodog, if the guest players from CFC stayed together with SaoPaolo, would you say they're a top3 team? Good to hear positive feedback from observers since I didn't get chance to watch.

Re: Top 10 2009
So your saying bc Sao Paulo chose to play kick ball that robbed your kid from development...how?
Where in the fifa rule book does it say the attacking team must connect 3 give and go passes in order for a goal to count? Better learn to defend all types of styles. Long ball, short ball, toe poke, if it goes off a knee, head, back. A goal is a goal!

I want impressed with the Sao Paolo or Tigeres. They seem to know how to win which comes in handy in tournaments. I've seen better play from the city futsal teams then this Sao Paolo but they did the unthinkable so props to them.

Re: Top 10 2009
Hnyloc,
I honestly don't know, since I really couldn't tell. It was obvious the coach told the defs to kick the ball up everytime, i really couldnt evaluate them. But to stay together they would have to buy into the system and coach and practice together I am not sure that will happen. Maybe just they were all going to brazil for futsal and wanted to spend more time in brazil and this was best way to get a team to do that.

This tournament is a bad reference to rankings
You can not use these results as a legit ranking,
And for those that think that kick ball can win , wish the 09 Manchester city boys that were playing in the 08 bracket played in the 09 bracket, so they can see what real soccer is played like

Only some of the Man City team was 09's. Most were 08's.

Re: Top 10 2009
IberCup allows 2 older players per team. That was Man City’s 09 team. The 2 08s are because England uses the school year for soccer, Sept-Sept not Jan-Dec. They chose to play up because they dominated last year.

Can anyone share the details?

Sp Won. 7pks- 7th should have been the keepers. Fcd sent out a field player for thier 7th shot. Ref didnt catch it. After review brought the keepers back. Fcd missed, SP made it.

Re: Top 10 2009
Wow. The short games leading up to the finals made for a lot of PK finishes. Looking around, they were everywhere. Kind of a cheap way to decide a game, but those are the rules.
Saw a little drama on the field behind us when the keeper saved the first shot of PKs only to have it re-kicked because the ref hadn’t blown his whistle yet. Of course the kid made his second try.

Re: Top 10 2009
You think there would be some sort of punishment for these scenarios other than retakes. If you send the wrong player to kick, it should be counted as a miss in my opinion. Same with kicking before the whistle.
I mean there’s a rule that states the PK is missed if you kick it backwards! (like a back heel towards the goal)

Soccerdad100....Do you really believe Sao Paolo is number 1 based on the Iber Cup results....Or was this just to get people talking?
I have seen the Brazil kids on a couple differente teams.
