Am I missing anyone? What happen to the Brazil team?
Soccerdad100....Do you really believe Sao Paolo is number 1 based on the Iber Cup results....Or was this just to get people talking?
I have seen the Brazil kids on a couple differente teams.

Re: Top 10 2009
@futbolero how are these results not valid. Other than the 2 finalist, most teams where in line of where people had them ranked prior to the tournament. The only teams I think get a pass is Group B.
Everyone else had more than enough time to prepare to muster up a few wins but didnt. Figuratively speaking dont let your coach fool you just because the team all-star little "Johnny" decided to play with someone else at the last minute screwed yall up. One player doesnt make a team.

@Henry to me right now yes they are #1 I dont care what guest player was on the team. All coaches use guest players, the coach and team prepared to win maybe they stick together for the next local tournament maybe they dont until that point. Let them have their moment #1 in my book lol

I hear you....However, none of my kids have ever played on a team wtih over 4 guest players for a tourney....Plus...If you look at league results from both teams, it does not look lie a number 1 team. But.. they should be congratulated for playing an awesome tourney.

Henry
The Brazil 09 team decided for all intents of purpose to end. 2 went to NTX Santos, a couple to Solar Dudley, and 1 stayed on Eligio.

Some of those city futsal players are actually with both clubs. I've seen them before #10 and bandana kid but like I said they where gellin' this weekend. We only notice guest players when the teams is actually winning. There was a team out there with maybe 4-5 rostered players the rest where guest and didnt win a single game.

Re: Top 10 2009
One of the best surprises for me was the Santos Laguna Team from Mex. They passed really well and kept possession, we beat them 2-1 but had a rough time breaking their defense down. they have very disciplined smart skilled kids who pass - they also tied FCD Gonzales 2-2. They are a great example of doing things the right way - the soccer was a great to see and our game was a real passing chess match. Parents were super classy and complimentary of our team. Honestly in a few years when kickball becomes a liability not a weapon, they will compete with, maybe even supersede teams in NTX

Re: Top 10 2009
2 of the kids play for both...The coaches kid plays for both.. I notice the guest players....Win or Lose....That is probably because my kids team doesn't use them.
One more point against our fictitious rankings....To be the best you have to beat the the best...Out of the previous top 5, Sao Palo only had to beat one of them...and that went to PK's in a shortened game. As I am writing this I am watching LP spank Man City In Champions league. Lp is not better than Man City, but will have beaten them twice this year.
Until I see Sao Paolo beat in regulation the Tigres, Santos, DT South and a few others, I can't consider them top 5. Consistency is the key.

I have seen some of those Sao Paolo kids play with FC dallas and ntx united.
So what would you say was the biggest surprise in this iber cup other then sao Paolo? I was surprised with Allegiance and dts results. Also FC Dallas teams did fairly well.

@Henry SP beat United Eligio, ntx santos, and Fcd Red in that tournament but I see what your saying about consistency.
I'm very suprised of fcd Adrian, the other fcd where about where I thought they would end up.
DT South im not suprised about they have had a complete turn around. The players they had for Vegas from the pics looks like are from fcd Adrian. Goes to show guest play only hurts the committed players.
Alligence was just in a tough group. Played well.

@soccerdad100 it may be ranked #1 to you by your standards , which seem pretty low standards but to me I 1 team full of little Johnny guest players , does not make up a team and does not rank #1, also everyone that knows soccer and knows the rules knows SP is not the champions of iber cup ,

Re: Top 10 2009
Speaking of Little Johnny - His dad BigJohn just forwarded me an email he just sent to FC Barcelona.
"Dear FC Barcelona,
My name is BigJohn and I live in North Texas, which is well known for soccer talent in the USA. My son, Little Johnny, just absolutely crushed the competition last weekend at an international soccer tournament which boasted teams from all over the world, like Mexico, Chicago, and some other country that is hard to spell.
I attached a YouTube link of highlights for Little Johnny. As you will see, there is no other kid kicking the ball farther, harder, or more wildly than my boy. I am sending you this because I think Little Johnny can help your team.
I asked someone who has the best soccer academy in the world, and several people mentioned FC Barcelona. But when I watched some games and highlights on YouTube I noticed you have 10 little guys all trying to move the ball forward but it takes them like 9 or 10 passes to do it. That is highly inefficient in my book. I guarantee you my Little Johnny can do it with 1 awesome kick. It seems odd to me that a big successful club hasn’t figured that out already. Well watch the video it speaks for itself. I await your response please have the contract in a pdf format... I can't stand using Word.
Signed,
BigJohn"

Sounds very similar to Debbie" whose son is in rec soccer scores 12 goals a game, is faster, tougher than anyone on the field and doesn't see why the coach pulls him out or plays him as defender. She also says her little Johnny will be a great asset to the team.

Allegiance was in the hardest group. Games were close... 1-0 to Tigres..The 4-2 loss to FCD was puzzling. Allegiance was dominating the game. Went up early 2-0....2nd half they changed to a conservative strategy, and their center mid, and center defender got hurt.... The wheels fell off, #99 took over. The win against Solar K, was similar...Went up early 2-0...Then went conservative, Switching player positions, and such...Only difference was no #99 to take advantage...So Allegiance prevailed.
DTS...Their best player also plays for Tigres. Without him they are a different team. Plus 2 others that play for them also play for FCD Adrian

Just checking scores around the leagues today and low and behold Sao Paulo 09B lost 3-0 (not a forfeit) to Dallas Fire 09B (who?). Back to usual for SPFC seems like. #1 09 team? Yeah not even close. No word yet if SPFC is trying to get a replay :>).

Almost. Its what left of the Brazil team plus some other kids including some girls. Its coached by a former Brazil now NTX Santos parent. Basically a co-ed team team playing for fun.
Disclosure: My son is on the roster but we didn't go today as we needed some family time after crazy 2 weeks.

To me, other than the fcd teams that play there Pit competition seems a step under primetime. Not to mention the fields are just horrific and to top it off no lines man. I'm just meh' about the pit.
