2000s vs 2001s - Large Discrepancy in Skill, Speed and Size Empty 2000s vs 2001s - Large Discrepancy in Skill, Speed and Size

Post by Durty-Tackle 8/8/2011, 2:32 pm

If you have seen any of the 00's teams (D1), there seems to be a big difference in terms of skill and athleticism.

If you were to take Solar Red back in time to play DT Gall, I am quite sure SR or Bazaan would have gotten demolished.

I am not trying to put down Solar Red or FCD because they are stellar, but it just seems like the 01s are not as developed, or maybe the 00's are freaks of nature. All the coaches are the same, so maybe it's just some overdeveloped boys in the 00 age group.

Even when you look at teams like TFC, Wizards, and Bandits (RIP), I don't think any of the 01s would have been able to hang with them.

And yes I have and 01 and an 00.

Is it just me or does anyone else see what I am seeing?

Is your 00 a "freak of nature" compared to your 01?

One year, especially around 10 years old can make a big difference. The real comparison should be made when the 00s and 01s are 17 and 18 years old.

Lets revisit this topic in 7 years.

back in time

Odd. Thought it was just me. Don't have an 00 or 01 but hanging around watching, while my BB is playing, I have also noticed the 01's look tinier than the '00's did last year.

You are right, it will all even out in a few years. But yes, my 00 is about 5' 2" and he is not even the tallest on the team. We have about 5 kids taller than him. What's sad is when we played DT Gall, all our kids seemed tiny...lol.

Apparently you should get used to saying DT Nazari instead of Gall for that 00 team unles someone accidentally removed it from Gall's bio! http://www.dallastexans.com/bio.php?sid=109

Yep - under teams it lists the Coach as HN. Probably b/c most of this team is enrolled in the residency program.....

I believe this was the plan for this team all along, so it was just a matter of time....

If it was part of the plan why did they wait until after signing to announce it to the parents. I think it was more a time problem with Gall having/getting 01, 03 & 04's.

Because it's Hassan and the Dallas Texans and they can and will do whatever they want whenever they want.

I thought you knew that already German??

And I always thought it's a democracy at the Texans. Seriously I don't think this was planned this time.

Good topic, the gap between the 01s to the 00s is huge in size speed and skill. The 01s would get demolished by the 00s.

In general i have thought the 01 talent pool deeper than the 00. This may result in more teams being competitive at a high level, but i found that having worked at some level with both that the 01 pool was full of extremely skilled kids. Not big kids (00 had size over 01 at the same age) but more kids with skill on the ball. my opinion only. For what it is worth i thought the 99's were a thinner year...and the 00 age was deeper. 98 was a good age as well...

You should see those 08's compared to those 09's. I think those moms all breastfed! Laughing
