who can compete for 96 top spot ?

With FCD (championship team reconstructed through recruiting)being the obvious class and eventual runaway winner of D1 in this age group and Odyssey (unfortunate that these boys are being subject to this) clearly heading to relegation or worse, ... Who will rise from D2 or 'D1 retool' and be competitive with FCD next time around?

The crushing 1-0 defeats of FCDY and TFC coupled with the stunning 5-2 shutdown of AE have left the rest of the league shellshocked. Nonetheless I do believe that FCDY, Solar, all the DTs and even TFC will go through the motions of showing up for the remaining few games, after there are only 13 or 14 left, deluding themselves into thinking such overwhelming dominance may be defeated.

Point well made. 5 straight W's from a new team still learning to play together but, this 'newness' could pose problems when they face the 'good' teams. Perhaps poor field conditions or bad weather could could help a challenger equalize as well. Also, only 4 other teams have posted their free pass with ODY and AE so far so that will help the field close a bit as well.

Hmm, hmm.....a new team? A team of starters that was a national team a yr ago? I don't think thats a "new" team. It's the old team with 7 players from last yr, that is not a new team.

Well, I guess there is always next year. It sounds like all the other D1 teams should just concede to this "new team". Nothing to play for according to Goooal (aka FCD Homer).

Actually no, most of us think its such an absurdly assinine subject that we're simply not commenting. To think that a team that TFC and FCDY 1-0 each, beat a DTRS with a very suspect D (given the other teams that have piled in goals on them this season) 5-1 and beat the two consensus last place teams in the league while running up the score to pad their goal differential (which the FCD homers like to point to as proving the dominance of FCDP) should be anointed as anything other than one of several very good teams in D-1 this season breaks with all logic.

Bottom line, until FCD is crowned Grand Champions this season, we don't know if any team will need to "retool" to beat them and quite frankly, I'll be surprised if they actually do win it all this season.

Unless the boys on FCD have all agreed not to play HS soccer this year (highly unlikely), the spring season could look very different as injuries during HS are not at all uncommon. On top of that, we're a whopping 5 games into the season, lots of soccer left to play.

I have been amused by this thread. I interpreted it as satirical, the initial post and several replies. I don't think the stated sentiments are genuine; just posted as provocative banter. I think the consensus is there is a lot of parity and it will be a fun season in D1, with perhaps 1 or 2 exceptions.

yep but just 3-0 that was the suprise and yes injurys have already taken its toll on the team but they still manage to win,and with one of their strikers scheduled to be back by spring maybe this team will squeek by then as well....

Well, well..... After today it seems the only teams that were able to stay even with FCDP were TFC & their Lil bro. The standings show the true rankings. Where are all the Texans fans? Didn't someone pick DT to be 1-2-3 or Red to run away with the top spot and never below 3rd? I can hear a pin drop in D1 with FCDP running the tables!

I said Texans Red would be 2nd or 3rd, but I did say FCDP would be first
