Because thats how long they took to make their substitution.

From what I read, the ref gave about 4 minutes of extra time which is what he said he would do. For the parents of the loosing team it might have seem like an eternity though based on the comments by my2cents (8 minutes?). Anyhow sounds like it was an exciting game.

Perhaps but I have not been at a game were the refs give 15 minutes of extra time when the actual stoppage time should have been 2 minutes. Refs are very reasonable with maybe a minute or 2 difference. But that is it. Most refs in the classic league give very little if any stoppage time in my experience.

so now it went from 8 to 15. Looks like the ref gave 7 mins of stoppage time in this thread alone

Running time on the second half was over 53 minutes from the starting whistle to the ending whistle. Weird that the ref told FCD 4 minutes but DTR 2 minutes????? Stoppage time is supposed to be based on injury and card delays. There was only one injury that was quickly helped off. So were does even 4 come from.
Iplay you are right the reffing was bad both ways, horrible really. My bb thought there should have been about 2-3 red cards given to each team just on the f-bombs that were dropped on the CR right to his face. The hit on the DTR keeper, The head lock on the DTR center back, The retaliatory shots on the FCD attackers late in the game. All cardable. Like I said before shame on the Classic League and their assignor for putting a clown on the game. Instead of taking control he just laughed.

Nope meant as an example not that it happened in the game last night. Eight minutes is what m2c stated.

Well I agree stoppage time being added is not common in CL. It seems like they usually have someplace to be so if you get your full game in you are doing good. But 8 min is not a miscarriage of justice it's just a loss of focus and a loss

Not a worthwhile endeavor to rant about the refs. Game over. Stay more focused on the State Cup and last minute goals will not happen... even if the ref adds 15 minutes of extra time.

OS Do you think FCD premier has better quality players or plays better as a team.

Fc Dallas play better as a team, but this isn't the players fault. The defenders are told to just kick it long, taking away from the midfield and forcing the forward to always be able to control with pressure, and try and turn. I thought the center forward for texans played very well, but I don't remember if texans even had a center midfielder when attacking. FCD moved the ball well, but couldn't create many chances through it, as most of the chances came from playing very direct.

All and all, it was a heated, tough and exciting game that truly felt like a final.

I am assuming you are talking about the Texans playing direct from defense to offense and bypassing the midfield. If so then this is very typical of the Texans system. A direct style of play borrowed from the English system. It is effective when you have BFS players. Teams tend to fall back on this direct system of play when they are behind on the score and or cannot penetrate the other teams defense by playing tiki taka (or have not been taught to play tiki taka or do not have the skills to do so).

After reading this thread, it begs the question...why would a ref add more than a couple of minutes of stoppage time, when there was no injury to justify it? If there was an injury that requires medical attention, then certainly you can understand adding more than 2 minutes. It sounds like there was nothing abnormal about this match in that regard. The reality is that most CL games do not add stoppage time.

Sounds like it was a great game. However, if anyone has any sportsmanship in his blood at all (as these two teams do), you would much prefer for the game to decide the CL champion to be a result without question scratch

I assure you that your wrong about the time. Once my watch reached 45 minutes, I set my chronograph to see how much added time would be allowed. I did this because of all of the slow play performed by the Texans. (By the way, I don't disagree with this tactic, as a matter of fact, I would be disappointed if our boys didn't do the same thing). My chronograph showed 1:30 when the tying goal was scored and 3:45 when the winning goal was scored.

Check and see if you mistakenly set your Timex for 40 minute halves for you Ohio friendlies.

time moves slower when you are trying to hang on for a win cheers You forgot to add that into your calculations. There should be a button on your chronograph for that.

Was going off the time kept by 2 of our parents. I never keep the time. I do know that the game started a little late, half time was normal and when the final whistle blew it was 8:25. Assuming it was about 6:35 when it started. Add 90 minutes of play, 10 minute half time and that brings you to 8:15.
Anyway there were no delays in the game that warranted ANY stoppage time.. CL does not allow for stoppage time as they are usually trying to keep the games on schedule. You can't have that policy during the weekend and not on a weekday.
