hey socerdadrandy why don't you ask the MODs on here to change your screen name to "kingofresearch" or "nothingbuttime" anyway hey in that link in the other thread it does not specify that the SA scorpions were forced out or left on their own? can you dig out some better details or was that your assumption that they left on their own?soccerdadrandy wrote:Scorpions left on their own not forced out!

The San Antonio Scorpions are saddened that the U.S. Soccer Development Academy’s San Antonio team operating under the name Scorpions will cease to exist. We deeply regret the disappointment this will cause the players, their families, and the coaches. There is, unfortunately, also a large amount of misinformation being disseminated regarding this situation.
The fact is, Soccer for a Cause has invested considerable time and resources into researching taking over the academy program and placing it under the control of the Scorpions since we were informed of the impending decision last October. Over the last seven months, we studied creating various different partnerships that would have not only kept the academy teams intact, but expanded our involvement with youth player development in San Antonio. Unfortunately, we were unable to come to an agreement with the prospective partners.
The Scorpions recognize the vital importance of a strong youth soccer program in San Antonio and will continue to actively support youth soccer development throughout the city through our partnerships with numerous programs. We are also active with children in the community through various school programs and donate to charitable causes throughout San Antonio and the state.
"The Scorpions will continue to explore opportunities to run and properly support an academy program in the future.
Soccer for a Cause was founded to bring professional soccer to San Antonio with the goal of competing for championships while supporting the special needs community. All profits from the San Antonio Scorpions, Toyota Field, and S.T.A.R. Soccer Complex go towards supporting special needs individuals. "
