PPL Scores 3/13
Solar Gold 1 - TLSC 0 (need confirmation)
Texas Xtreme 3 - Aces 2
Hate to sound like a sorry loser, but Aces dominated this game and it was a shame they had to lose. Xtreme scored with 15 seconds left for the win, a trickling shot that got just underneath the Aces keeper. The CR was one of the worst I've seen, as he alternated between letting EVERYTHING go to letting NOTHING go depending on his fancy. Both Xtreme goals were pure gifts, as players collided just outside the box and a foul was called against Aces each time (these were the parts of the game where no contact was allowed). The first Xtreme goal glanced off the far post and went in, the second high shot was initially stopped by the Aces keeper but the rebound was an easy tap-in. Aces scored both their goals on beautiful corner kicks, the first on a volley and the second on a header to tie the game with 6 minutes left.
Aces missed two golden opportunities in the last five minutes, with one ball hitting the crossbar and another shot that rolled right to the Xtreme keeper. Aces controlled the game in both halves regardless of the wind direction and was clearly the better team today, but that's soccer. Congrats to the Xtreme for capitalizing on their chances and pulling out the win.

Re: PPL Scores 3/13
FWU 2 - 1 ASG
Still incredibly tight between FWU and Solar Gold for second place. FWU leads Solar by a single point when you factor in a likely win by Solar Gold over Solar Silver for the fall make-up game.
FWU finishes with Nationals on Thursday, Monterrey on Saturday and Valencia on the 27th.
Solar Gold still has Texas Extreme, ASG, Nationals and Solar Silver. It looks like they will most likely finish with 4 consecutive wins, thereby putting the heat on FWU to somehow find a way to beat Monterrey next Saturday.
Should be interesting...
