D1 and D2 Empty D1 and D2

Post by Gotogoal 9/22/2014, 9:12 pm

D2 seems to be going as it should but D1 to me has had some surprises. Like Pino, they lost all 3 and to the ayes as of late. DTS is not looking too good. Have we in the making the next relegated?

I think it's way too early to tell who's going to be relegated. FCD Premier Pino is a good team and they will get back on track. While we know DTS isn't the same team from last season don't count them out quite yet. Many surprises so far in this very young season and they'll be more. Like my old friend Cowpukesfan would say "get your popcorn ready". There's still plenty of good soccer to play.

FCDP is very talented and I would say should be the top team with the talent they have, but let's hope what happened to the FCDP 01 team last year is not an indication of coaching, or lack thereof. I believe they will turn it around due to the talent of the kids, and let's see what their leader can do.

Things played out last year just like they started. I don't know about talent I was observing based on results thus far. It will be interesting to see if the player changes make a difference for them.

Is there truth that Pino pulled up 03 boys to help his 02's????? They need to do something before the season gets too far head and they can't recover. Is it just me or did they just lose size on defensive backs.

It's more along the lines of giving one 03 boy that practices with 01 PA team a chance to play at a higher level. Since he is not 01 age pure, he cannot play for the PA squad, just train with them.

Why would Pino's team need an 03 player? This team is loaded with talent. I know of a few kids who tried out that were turned away because Pino thought they weren't good enough.

I don't think it is so much of him needing the 03 player to help that team, as ensuring that the kids are maximizing their development. FCD is unique in their "One Club" approach, where many kids train and play in environments that may provide them more competition than the team they reside on for age/rostering purposes. It is not uncommon for kids 2 years below an age group to attend an older teams practices, scrimmages and games where allowed within the rules. It challenges the player, appeases the parents and maximizes development. I have seen it that way @ FCD for the last 7 years that I have been involved in competitive youth soccer. Only time will tell if the process works or not, but I respect the model after seeing coaches at some of the other clubs hoard the talent for themselves.

Doesn't look like it's working. 0-3 for a team that should be on top of the standings. I wonder how the parents on Pino's team are taking it?

I expect FCD Pino to get back into the top of the standings as they have a lot of good players. It looks like the league is pretty even this year but I thought going in it would be a battle between LP Fagen, Andromeda (Thornber) and FCD Goncalves. I still think these may be the top three but SR has done a great job rebuilding as well.

The top team at the half-way point gets into Dallas Cup so a lot to play for.
