Where did all the 99 posters go?

They are all band!

Or scared they will be based on some random, arbitrary, made up reason.

Careful with that kind of talk. I would hate to see a new name at the top of the leaderboard. What would this place be without Omega Striker?

The 99s were a super competitive bunch in the U11 days and the online smack talk was clever and fun. Remember Extra Cheese?

Offline, the arguments were epic and a couple of the online posters found themselves banned from the gameday sidelines.

I believe it was Andromeda Red vs Tyler Azzuri. The rumor was that some heated words were being exchanged during the match, which turned into a game of push and shove against the fence on field 10. Man, those were the days!!

I plead the "Lois Lerner". Actually, the rumors got it wrong. There were no words exchanged during the match. We both acted like children and it's years behind us at this point.

Btw- Rec isn't what it used to be either. Back in the day, the younger Academy was just getting started so all the kids still played rec. Great games, tons of competition and massive smack talk.

I am still coaching rec and it is a totally different atmosphere these days. I hope to play in the Tournament of Champions again this Fall. When I took the 99s, the Oak Cliff Angels dominated everyone. I lost 1-0 to NFWSA, then OC Angels beat them 6-1 in the final.

Nope. No one has figured it out. I've told a few people. Maybe you can dig around and figure it out. It's fun to keep you guessing. What was your last guess? ASG or some other now defunct team? Maybe I don't even have a kid in this age group. Others have guessed that too.

Funny. I haven't spent much time on here lately but come on every now and again to check on the craziness. ASG......man it has been a while. Well you'll have to let me in on your secret eventually, soon enough we'll all be gone from these here parts.....

I always thought Speedy was on FCD Premier. I was wrong. Let him tell you if he wants you to know.

OS knows who the Admin? My guess is all you guys go back to the TM days. So yeah, lots of folks have probably known the Admin for many years...

Trolling the site from time to time. Occasionally will be seen at the Dallas Sidekicks' games. Mostly watching my boy kick footballs now. Blasphemy? Maybe, but he enjoys it. I've always said I didn't care what my kids did. I just want them to do their best at whatever it is they choose to do. I like watching my kids do stuff!

Tyler Scorchers baby (u-10 dII). Lost in the semi-finals after blowing through group play. Fun times. Why on earth would someone still have the link? Is it still available from that long ago or still bookmarked in your browser? Either way, thanks for the flashback.

NFWSA Burn. Good old times. That coach still trolls this site.....

That tournament was a blast! We had a 40' motor home as a base camp and between games the kids were able to stay together.

I was talking with one of the refs at my rec game last weekend and he brought up that team and those times. My bb had been out of soccer for 2 years, so we were just coming back on the scene at U10. To play in the TOC a couple of months later was awesome!

Rec soccer was great in those days. Best time ever!
