Nuno played in the top flight and came in fourth. Was surprised to see Connell playing in the lower division.
Interesting the Texans had 2 U15 Pre-Academy teams. Solar U15 Pre-Academy made it to the Finals in their Group.

yea that's great but at the same time no fun not having anything on the line like knockout rounds, playing in the academy league has become more like friendlies with no promotion or relegation but then again its about the development of the playerssoccerdadrandy wrote:U14 Dallas Texans Academy won their bracket. yeah. my BB was bummed they couldn't compete for a trophy but (in a different way) EVERY game means something at this level.

Re: Disney Showcase
I do think thats why you see many of the top academy teams now skipping disney. What is it 3 games with a day of rest in between. They make you stay longer and get fewer games than if you were in the regular divisions.

Re: Disney Showcase
so if the academys cant guarantee you a college or pro spot the what s its real advantage and I ask you go99 seeing that you are the most experienced parent with this that hasn't bought into the typical BS hype or even eats the BS that is fed to parents and I know your not a bandwagoneer so..............go99 wrote:I do think thats why you see many of the top academy teams now skipping disney. Re: Disney Showcase
the advantadge is supposed to be better training and more training. But you know how that goes. Often the same coaches doing the same training and not even sticking to the mandetory amount of training days. The no relegation was supposed to lead to a focus on development but for the most part what I have seen the focus is still all on winning. Results over style, team building over player development, coaching'parent egos over kids. I suppose the only advantadge is exposure and also some coaches feeling that an academy player is better equipped to deal with the rigors of scheduling in college soccer.

Re: Disney Showcase
There is "relegation" in DA Soccer. Because there are only a select number of clubs with a team and only one team covering 2 birth years each ie:U13/14, U15/16 and U17/18; the relegation is with the players involved. Not the teams. I hope you can't smell my poo breath

Re: Disney Showcase
thats actually not relegation and very few of the local academy teams are acutually using the younger kids on the academy teams anyway. So what happens is they put the 15 yr olds in pre academy and the 16s in academy.

there are only 18-26 or so spots available for each two year group on each club DA team. same with pre-academy. BB's not producing will be relegated out and down to "perceived" lower levels of soccer. choose any age appropriate classic league team. i like that there is not a d2 or d3 within the academy system. BB is good enough or not. as with any league, not all the best players are in DA and/or PA but the vehicle is there.go99 wrote:thats actually not relegation and very few of the local academy teams are acutually using the younger kids on the academy teams anyway.
